I’m looking for someone to tile three floors .

Some of you may already be aware of this, I have only just heard of it hence the post. I returned to the UK last September with my 7 dogs, UK vets are now insisting that all dogs coming in from the EU are tested for Brucellosis, although this is not a new disease, 2 vets have contracted it in the past few months, one recovered the other on meds for life. The test is simple just a blood test. So I took all 7 for this test (Then took out a mortgage!!!!!!)  all were negative, I presented my EU pets Passports to the vet to write in the test results, only to be told that UK vets ,BY LAW, are now not allowed to write in EU pets passports. This could cause a problem for people travelling back and forth if they have an EU pets passport, because although the vets can administer the Rabies jab, it will not be recorded in the passport, and therefore will not be admitted to Spain. The only way around this as I see it, is make sure your dog has his/hers Rabies Jab just before you leave Spain so that it is still in date when you want to travel back.

Hi, I just wondered if Oria was a nice area as see some lovely houses there and we’re looking to buy next year. Not had the time to see that area when we were over in March. Can anyone give me some knowledge on the area? I’ve heard it’s cooler as higher up but that might not be an issue for us. TIA

Hi We need to know exactly what taxes we will be liable for when we buy a house in Spain, I have ben advised it is about 8% of the value of the house, which is their equivalent of Stamp Duty in UK, then we must pay a solicitor to do the conveyancing - can anyone tell me approx. what they charge, I have been told we must go to a notary who will check and register the deeds, what do we need to pay him?   The agent is very vague about all these costs but we must know exactly what we will need to pay?   Any help will be appreciated please, sorry I have to ask these questions and both agents are giving us different figures

We have inherited a property in Oria and once we have all the document paperwork completed we plan to sell it and buy another property near Alicante to be near our family.   We are totally confused about the taxes.   We know we will have to pay inheritance tax, then we will have to pay another tax when we sell the house which is referred to as plus valia payable to Oria town hall, this means tax on the value since my parents bought it,  we are baffled they bought the house 5 years ago and paid Euro 100,000 for it, I have contacted 4 estate agents near Oria and  they have all said it is worth Euro 100,000, I have been told this plus valia is a tax by the Oria town hall, based on the profit they have made on the house, given there will be no profit as the house will be sold for the price they paid how can they charge us this plus valia, at this rate we will have to pay about £30,000 for all the taxes and we are wondering if we should just stay in Oria.  Can anyone please give us advise

Hello - any advice on where to go to purchase household items in the surrounding area - hoover- bedding - iron - quilt. I think you get the idea. Something like a IKEA, ASDA or a B&Q would be perfect. Ideally, everything under one roof.
