Hi. 

I have not visited my property in San Juan de Los de Terreros in over two years. In that time I have had no water or electric at house and I don't know where to begin in trying to resolve issues as I speak no Spanish. My bank account is also a mess- I need internet banking. I'm so overwhelmed with the issues relating to the property. Can any one recommend someone who would act on my behalf? Thanks

Hi just wondering if anyone lives full time on campsite just outside Los gallardos and if so what it's like

After a very long struggle  we are now at the stage of applying for residency and I am looking for information on a couple of things related to this.

1) Does the S1 certificate cover you for medical treatment, or do you have to have private cover.

2) I have just received a quotation for a lawyer to do the residency for my wife and myself and his fee is 907 euro. Does anyone know if this is the normal fee for this or does the lawyer see me as donkey. 

Like many I transfer money from UK to my bank in Spain to cover bills - for this I use Currencies Direct who do not charge but give a exchange rate 2 or 3% below the official rate.

I also use a Caxton FX card and again they exchange at 2 or 3% below the official rate.

I have just been looking at Revolut who exchange at the official rate and only charge at 0.5% of the transfer. From their website the system looks a bit complicated with the standard account being free but the plus, premium and metal accounts having a monthly fee. It also looks as if you open a UK bank account with them in order to make the transfers.

Has anyone used Revolut and if so would the standard account be OK for making transfers to Sabadell and does the account have any stipulations such as minimum amounts you have to transfer in each month. I would not intend to close my existing UK bank account.

Sorry this is a boring topic but all I am allowed to do at the moment is pay my bills!

Hello I am new to this site and feel very thankful that I have found you. I hope I am writing in the right forum. I am hoping, in two or three years to move to Mojacar permanently but am concerned ref the cost of private health insurance which I believe is necessary? I am worried that it will be prohibitive. I realise that different circumstances mean different charges but I’m just looking for  a very very approximate ball park figure for costs for a woman aged 70 in good health but with mild arthritis. I am anxious not to invest too many hopes and dreams into my plans if it is not going to possible for me, so I am trying to find some possible guidelines ref prices etc. I would be so grateful if anyone could help me please, or point me in the direction of good health insurance companies.
