We live in England, and have a property in Garrucha, I understand that holiday makers are unable to visit Spain, but where do home owners and part time residency people like us stand, obviously we have to maintain the property and carry out financial matters, and would like to get to Spain as soon as po

Unfortunately the borders are closed to non residents. I understand your concerns. The only thing I can suggest is to contact a maintenance firm and send them your keys to maintain the property. The financial stuff can be done online.

I don’t want to start a war but the way the UK is carrying on I think Spain would be wise to close the borders to them for a long time yet.

It’s sad to say Keith, that the police have no powers, their hands are tied. Without backing from the UK government they may as well sit in the station drinking tea.

There is a lack of respect and whats needed is a good kick up the arse. Excuse my language.

Thanks for all your comments, first reply from Derek was sufficient, and answered my questions, Apologies to the forum,  I didn’t want it to turn into political opinions and complaints on how people are behaving in the U.K.

Good luck to you and hopefully the world will get back to a new normal soon.

Sorry if the rest of us who posted our thoughts were meaningless, like all conversations, we digress.

As I say hope all goes well and you can soon be back in Garrucha.

I don't either  but I am not sure as to what exactly you are referring to by that comment about our counrty. I live in the North of England and we have strictly observed the Lockdown in full from the beginning.  The result is in my small town which has no traffic or any breaches of the lockdown so we haven't had any cases or deaths. I think it's fair to say that we are doing our absolute best to shield all our vulnerable citizens. We are giving full and honest figures of cases and all deaths including those in care homes in all our four countries unlike some other countries  and we have taken care of all our people who died respectfully.

Hi Darren....We are in a similar....but a little bit more complex situation.....We bought in Los Gallardos at Christmas....and came back to rent out our home here as we intend to get Spanish Residencia.....this could not be done before we left as all appointments were cancelled due to Brexit....We came back here and signed off our home as a rental, only to find within days that we can't get back to Spain....So are homeless! As I say we do not have residencia.....only the deeds/ bank account and S1's....We are living in a friends small studio above a garage, and our furniture is in Storage......There have been no cases of Covid near to us, and everyone is behaving and staying in doors....BUT we can not find out whether we can return with our belongings!!!! Someone mentioned on a site that we could come and self isolate for 14 days....but how will that work when we have to bring back the empty van??? !!!! Then fly back to where our car is in Alicante. No sense from anywhere about getting back so I feel for you....
