Hi I was just wondering if anyone else has used a well known property company for a long term rental and has struggled to get bonds back from them. It is over 2 months since we left our rental property all bills have been paid and the property is available to rent again. The company is being evasive and basically been telling us for 3 weeks that the transfer is imminent. Is this common in Spain or indeed anywhere we have never rented through a company before. Thank you, wish we were there x

typical living costs in Almeria area - 5 replies
Hi all
looking at selling up in UK and moving out to Spain (Alicante / Almeria areas) and seeking any advice re basic living costs. I have made a little table below listing my best estimate of basic costs (assuming 2 retired people in a 3 bed villa with a small pool, probably one of those new build type). I have excluded food and drink and the like as I'm just trying to establish costs of basic bills... Any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance, Stephen

Electric bikes - 2 replies
Hi all,
My wife and I have recently purchased a villa in Arboleas and are thinking of buying a couple of electric bikes. As we don’t know how much we will use them, we do not want to spend a lot of money - any recommendations or thoughts?
Many Thanks

Aggressive Dog - 30 replies
Two days ago I was walking my Podenco in Las Golondrinas, behind my house. He was, as always, on a lead. As I approached the hills, passing through the residential area, I noticed a dog standing calmly behind the garden gate of a house, another Podenco-type dog. My dog trotted over and they greeted each other gently, briefly sniffing each others’ faces through the gate. Suddenly, without any warning, another dog, a terrier type, appeared out of nowhere, it lunged against the gate, thrusting its muzzle through the bars and viciously sunk its teeth into my dogs face. It happened so quickly, without any provocation, and the speed and accuracy with which the terrier rammed its’ jaws through the gap in the bars and grabbed my dog suggested it was not the first time it had done this.
I am not sure who was more shocked and upset, me, my dog or the other Podenco!
Owners of aggressive dogs that viciously attack without warning or provocation should invest a few euros in mesh to place behind the bars of their gate to prevent friendly animals, or, heaven forbid, an inquisitive passing child, being savaged in this manner.
I had to make an expensive visit to the vet to treat my dog.
I accept that some people keep dogs to protect their property, but this was unprovoked and potentially very dangerous behaviour.
Please take care when walking in this area.
