I've just heard today on the Spanish News that they are going to enforce a 14 day quarantine for everyone, Spanish or otherwise entering Spain.  It's imminent and can't say how long it will last.

I always get my news from olivepress news paper it’s a local paper and has all breaking news also spectrum radio and at 10.30 local time he gives all news updates really good station

We had to get back to the UK, so we hired a car from Avis/Budget In Almeria (not the Airport) and drove to Gibraltar  - 360 kms. Go E15-AP7 then come off at junction 118 onto the C34, and that road takes you straight to the airport. There are no signs to Gibraltar until you almost get there!...

... Cost us 85 euros with hire car for the day and fuel. Avis car park is literally across the road from the airport. Took 4 hours. At Gibraltar airport they had hand sanitiser and people were social distancing. The flight had only about 40 people on it, so you can find a seat away from everyone else and wear a mask and gloves. LHR had hardly anyone around, so can go through immigration quickly - again people were social distancing. I'm sure if you tell the airline (British Airways) about your mother-in-law's concerns, they will be sympathetic and assist her.
