Yes, but if you are like us, it would be more convenient to use it whenever you wanted to, so instead of being restricted to 90 days then having to leave Spain for 90 days ,you could have days weeks or months when you needed to or wanted to use it. It may never happen, but a lot of retirees would prefer the whole winter in Spain which is not allowed now. We are simply trying to get as many part time residents in Spain and U.K. to join together, we are not asking for More days than the 180, but just that for Spain at least, we can use them whenever.   Or all at once, If they can monitor 90 in 180 they can do same for 180 in 365.   The more the merrier i suppose .  It could well be it may suit you in future. But your mother in law is over 80... so will have had the vaccine here..... she will be safe then, but you others travelling will not be. Sorry mum you need to care about others and not be selfish!

We have two friends non-residents who came out to their holiday homes for the winter they are now wanting petitions etc. to get the 180 day stay back, they both voted leave and like thousands of others including most of the politicians had little or no idea of the possible changes. I don't think things were as bad as the leave brigade made out prior to the referendum so with hindsight maybe that old saying would have been useful " If it ain't broke don't fix it " we certainly won't sign any petitions to restore the things that our friends and others had and lost because they didn't stop to think.

Wow,  !    Sorry, that stinks of Jealousy to me.  There NEVER was a 180 Day stay!  It was only ever 90 days in 180.  I didn’t vote for it and it’s Stupid to assume a lot of people who have property in the EU did vote  for leave ,dont worry we don’t NEED you to sign anything that would help YOUR FRIENDS, they don’t need enemies with “friends “ like you . I hope they know about your stinking opinion?   If anyone reading this has any empathy at all for the people who have found themselves in this position PLEASE SIGN.  Thanks Ray 43. Please look at date before you comment ok my mother in law and everyone around me was always safe to travel and no I would not put her or anyone in danger there was no vacation available ok so please understand before you comment 

Both our friends thought like lots of others that it  always was a  180 day rule but wouldn't be told otherwise, like you they are know-it-alls who make stupid assumptions, in your case that I am jealous, of what ? idiots that want to spend the winter in Spain and the rest  of the year in Britain, much of the time they spend in Spain they complain about the fact that the Spanish don't speak English the Spanish don't do this right etc. etc. I have lived here for 16 years and have met many like our (friends) and possibly you who regard the Spanish people as inferior, I asked some of them why they bought furniture and electrical goods in England then had it shipped here when they could have saved the transport costs, and bought here " but you wouldn't buy here it's Spanish "  they replied, they come for the winter to save the U.K.electric bills, and the sun, lets hope the Spanish enforce the 90 day rule this time, so if anyone is jealous it most certainly isn't me Mr. Knowall.

lol. No sorry. you are Mr KnowFall 😎.  You make too many assumptions on other people, We’ve had our place since 2002 ! We bought ALL Spanish,(which is really ALL the same brands as we would buy in the U.K.) Spain doesn’t Make many appliances lol. The Spanish are certainly not INFERIOR , some of their rules seem a bit off the wall to us.  Like moving goal posts in legal and planning matters ,ie backdating which we are certainly not used to in the U.K.But the U.K. isn’t Spain!   We are not the type you are talking about moaning about the Spanish. So don’t assume anything about me. So, you hope the Spanish enforce the 90 day rule which i’m sure they will and we will deal with it ,I’m so sorry for YOUR FRIENDS, do they know you are not ,  ?    haha.     Idiots who want to be in Spain 180 and live in the U.K. REALLY,  As far as jealousy goes, yes, i’m afraid the attitude of a lot of “i’m alright Jacks” is all about jealousy. They’ve burnt their bridges and we haven’t had to .   lol  We can have the best of both Worlds.
