Last move, next one will be in a box heading for the crematorium 🤣🤣🤣

Long way from that, it is a relaxing life in Spain if you allow it to be.

Best wishes

Thank you, the cooler summers are a welcome and I'm sure there is less humidity than what we have here in Cabo Roig. We're quite used to the chilly winters as we lived in Johannesburg for 30 years. We're looking at living in the surrounding areas of Oria. A few expats is good news.

Don't agree with buying Old property over new.

Old properties are notorious for bad insulation - they may have thick walls but that won't help with badly sealed doors and windows and single glazing.

They have building regs in Spain and a new house built without insulation would be illegal.

Our new house was built last year - incredibly well insulated - far better than our UK home that was built in the late nineties. We barely need to use the heating in winter.

Good luck with your search.

Thank you for the information, an older property would not suit our needs.

So now you have a wealth of information, Corrine, the only other minus might be that, with your arthritis, you may not be able to, fully, enjoy the wonderful countryside, being that it is quite hilly?

There are other pluses though, as I mentioned, the wonderful countryside, the views and the fact that with the altitude, that air is more pure and fresh, and I also feel it important to emphasise, how friendly & welcoming the Spanish locals are, but of course, you have to make an effort too.

As mentioned, there are many expats here, but it isn’t an ‘expat ghetto’.

Once you visit, I’m sure you’ll ‘feel’ how nice it is here, and later, if you do move here, you’ll appreciate it all so much more.

Regards

Puff
