Posts like this make my blood boil! Maybe you should have spoken to Captain Tom before he raised over 32 million pounds for NHS charities for his 100th birthday? And those at most risk of dying are the elderly. What are you suggesting? That we should incarcerate all the people who have contribute...

...d to their society all their lives? Or just let them die?

I totally agree with you it’s an awful thing to suggest that the older people don’t matter !!

I understand your thinking but if the younger people get the virus they are more likely to live.  My son has had the virus very badly and he is fine now.

All life is valuable and i believe the most elderly, welfare workers etc should be first.  Just because we are old does not mean we are of no value to our families or the community.  Your comments have upset me greatly it is as if we are worth nothing, not worth saving....

Well you have taken this far to personally Ednab,  Never did I say the elderly not worth saving. But I questioned in what order the Vaccine should be given, I still maintain that people under 60 should be given priority along with all front line workers, i.e. Care workers, NHS, Police, Firebridge etc. etc These people should get the vaccine before anyone, then the under 60's and then us oldies.

I beg to differ! Do you actually have any contact with 'the younger generation'? Or is it just the sensational headlines you read? Sounds like you need a 'harrumph'

A total over reaction to my original question.

I agree Jenni.  I saw a beautiful young woman in her thirties died because she couldn’t have an appointment  for her pre planned cancer treatment because of covid causing hosp to close departments.   No one ever said the old should be sacrificed for the young, as some are making out you are saying.  Of course everyone counts BUT, this young woman left young children and that has a domino effect.  A person of over 80 s children are grown ups.  also I bet if you asked them who should be first ,they would all say the young

Thanks for your support L181, I think the people that have taken my posting personally just haven't read it properly, and are getting upset over something that I didn't say. Its terrible for a young family to lose their mum or dad because they are at the back of the queue.

Have a nice evening.

Totally agree Anne I have worked in Further Education for almost 30 years and I have worked with young people from 14 upwards. Some of them are not worth the paper that their birth certificate is written on but lots of them have given me hope for the future of the country. I have also worked and dealt with many older people some of whom would make Victor Meldrew look like a saint. There are good and bad in all the generations and we just hope that those that we sired have been brought up to be useful contributors to society.
