Hi Dario/Foxylady,

This is what I don’t understand, how can you be expected to have an address in Spain when applying for the NLV if you can’t be living in Spain at the time of application??.

Sorry for all these questions, but has any filled in the self assessment form 790-052, I'm a little confused as to what this is for? Is it for payment of the visa?

Translation is a little confusing.

The Modelo 790 is used for payment of fees for application.  I imagine it will be the same in UK, but here (790-012 used to change Residencia to TIE) you take the 790 into a bank, pay the required fee and the bank imprints the receipt on it.

Your application will NOT be accepted without a completed and stamped 790.

They can be a little tricky to complete - I’d suggest seeing on Consulate site if there is an example of a completed 790-052 to follow.

EDIT:  I’ve found this, which is a guide to filling it out : http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/BATA/es/InformacionParaExtranjeros/Documents/M790C052.pdf

Many thanks Dario. Obviously you can't take it into a British bank to pay it, when applying at the Consulate in London, so I guess you pay it at the Consulate.

I was just looking at the instructions for applying for the NLV at the Consulate and regarding proving financila worth it states; "evidenced by the submission of original and stamped documents" Does anybody know what "stamped" means? Is it just bank statements with the bank name and address on it or some official stamp?

Hi,

As mentioned here about marriage certificate to be translated to Spanish, I a wondering something. My husband (English) and me (Chilean) got married in Chile. We got a marriage certificate in Spanish. We live in England for 24 years now.  Do any of this forum has any idea if the Chilean marriage certificate is valid as it is because is already Spanish? It will interesting to know to save some money.

Thank you very much. Bernarda

If it is in Spanish, it should be acceptable as is, however you may need to have it apostilled, and it will need to be the full printed certificate, not a handwritten certificate

Hi

Just wanted to let you know we have now been accepted for our NLV's and are collecting our Visas today from the Consulate in London (only 2 weeks after submitting our applications) 🙂😉. So excited but just wanted to say everyone out there who is struggling and are about to give up (and believe me we nearly did!) Don't please persevere! It will be worth it. Just as a quick brief outline to what is required please see below:

DBS (standard £23) will suffice

Letter from doctors ensuring no diseases but please ensure the wording is the correct wording expected of the Consulate.

Private medical insurance.

Birth Certificates (if applying as a family) we are travelling as a couple but still produced them but were handed back so to be on the safe side worth providing.

6 months worth of bank statements.

Marriage Certificate (again this was handed back also).

Evidence of financial means (make sure you check the correct monthly requirements or the lump sum required). We only had the amount of €40,000 in our Spanish Bank account as no monthly income commencing until July 2021 being my husband's standard pension and our rental from our UK property.

All the above need to be officially stamped with the Hague Apostille and translated into Spanish.

Good luck everyone your dreams will come true 🤗.
