Hi to all the friendly folks on here, we're hoping to buy a property in Almeria, (Mojacar, Turre and surrounding towns). Non-resident tax - 0 replies

tuftywomble Posted by tuftywomble in Taxes in Mojacar: Suma, NIE and general tax advice on Fri Jul 12, 2024 12:24pm

I'm not a resident in Spain but have a holiday home which does not have rental income, only being for private use.   I think that paying non-resident property tax should be fairly straightforward, but I'm currently paying quite a lot of money to someone to take care of it for me.  Does anyone know of a fairly foolproof way of registering directly online with the Andalusian tax authorities whereby I could simply quote my address, NIE and previous payment reference in order to pay it direct without incurring extortionate professional fees?   Thanks

Lack of TIE Appointments - Official Protest Friday Almeria - 13 replies

Brian1 Posted by Brian1 in Residency in Mojacar: padron, residencia and passport advice on Wed Jul 10, 2024 2:48pm

Given the frustration experienced by Solicitors and individuals trying in vain to secure appointments to get TIE Numbers/Cards the Solicitors Council has organised a Protest outside the Subdelegacion del Gobinero on Calle Arapiles Almeria at 12.00 this Friday 12th July.

The protest has been approved by the police and there should be press/tv coverage to highlight the problem.

Obviously the more people attend the better and I will be going along with a representative from my solicitors.

I wrote to the Embassy and British Consulate about the lack of appointments problem but there reply was "we are aware of the problem but cannot do anything about it as it is a Spanish system" So they do not want to get involved and will be no help.

It would be good to see as many there as possible - especially as this has been going on since last year and the waiting lists are just getting longer - and I believe you have to go through the whole process every time you renew the visa!

Hope to see people there.

So Spain doesn’t want tourists - 30 replies

devo49 Posted by devo49 in General Mojacar discussion on Tue Jul 9, 2024 9:45am

I’m just been watching protesters spraying tourists with water pistols . Were the people in the cafes British or Dutch , German or North American or any other nationality ? It seems a strange thing to do . It’s happening in the canaries as well as other areas . Surely tourism is a big part of spains economy . We obviously have similar issues in parts of England in Cornwall , Devon etc ,with second home owners . What’s your thoughts on this issue and is spraying people the way to go . I expect there are hundreds of second home owners and settled retired folk on this forum . Are you depriving a Spanish person of a home ?

Property wanted to rent: 2+ bedroom Villa with private pool for holiday rental. - 1 replies

lucylou Posted by lucylou in Property wanted to rent or buy requests in Mojacar on Sun Jul 7, 2024 1:27pm

My husband and I have been coming to Mojacar for a holiday since 1987, first with our young family now just us 2.  We are looking for a private villa with pool to recuperate and although not essential as will have car, not too far to walk to all amenities would be perfect. We hope to come over again end of September, beginning of October and would appreciate names of contacts who now deal with the holiday rentals in the Mojacar area.  In the past it has been quite straight forward to get somewhere but not so much now I feel.  Ventanicas area is our favourite spot but love all of Mojacar so anyone wishing to let their home to a very trustworthy couple anywhere in the Mojacr area we would be very grateful. Best regards

NLV Renewal Requirements-Almeria-Mojacar - 12 replies

NLW Posted by NLW in Moving to Mojacar: tips and advice on Sat Jul 6, 2024 9:26pm

Does anybody know the current financial requirements to renew a NLV in the Almeria region? I have been informed that certain municipalities (specifically Almeria), only required 400% IPREM (as with 1st year application), for renewals? Is this correct? Many thanks
