Hi

Just wanted to let you know we have now been accepted for our NLV's and are collecting our Visas today from the Consulate in London (only 2 weeks after submitting our applications) πŸ™‚πŸ˜‰. So excited but just wanted to say everyone out there who is struggling and are about to give up (and belie...

...ve me we nearly did!) Don't please persevere! It will be worth it. Just as a quick brief outline to what is required please see below:

DBS (standard Β£23) will suffice

Letter from doctors ensuring no diseases but please ensure the wording is the correct wording expected of the Consulate.

Private medical insurance.

Birth Certificates (if applying as a family) we are travelling as a couple but still produced them but were handed back so to be on the safe side worth providing.

6 months worth of bank statements.

Marriage Certificate (again this was handed back also).

Evidence of financial means (make sure you check the correct monthly requirements or the lump sum required). We only had the amount of €40,000 in our Spanish Bank account as no monthly income commencing until July 2021 being my husband's standard pension and our rental from our UK property.

All the above need to be officially stamped with the Hague Apostille and translated into Spanish.

Good luck everyone your dreams will come true πŸ€—.

Hi - congratulations !!,  I'm still trying to find a way around getting an address in Spain without having to rent somewhere, but not looking promising .

Chris, if I may offer some advice ... don't jump straight into buying out here, certainly not without having actually visited the property.

Renting is often the best way to go as it allows you to actually get a feel for the area you believe you want to live in.  It might look idyllic in photos, but on arrival you find it swarming with flies and freezing cold in the winter.  Take a rental - even if only for 6 months (which I believe is still minimum necessary to obtain residence), get your NLV, get to the country then see exactly where you want to live - because there is also a great deal of difference between holidaying here - even for 3 months, and actually making a life here

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S - ENHORABUENA; that is absolutely fabulous news ... so when are you actually arriving? The NLV will certainly count to allow you to leave UK and of course will get you into Spain.

I promise you that applying to the TIE when you arrive should be less stressful :-D

Hi, Congratulations. Did you have to translate the bank statements and have them Apostille stamped?
