Hello, does anyone know what this bird is, ? It's not a hooper because it has an ordinary beak not curved and no crest. It has black and white striped wings, pale orange shoulders, darker orange head, black and White face, it's a big bird . There were 3 of them near my home in the garden. I'm curious to know what they were, I've never seen them before.

Just checked, Alicia 11 and it's not a bee eater , it had definite striped black and white wings like a hooper but it wasn't a hoopee. Any more ideas?

It would be an idea to take a picture of it when you see it again

Will try, but they flew off when I opened the patio door, even though I opened it really quietly. I think they felt my presence.
