Property wanted to buy: Looking for 3/4 Bed Villa with pool and 1000M + of land near Cantoria - 2 replies

Jimh Posted by Jimh in Property wanted to rent or buy requests in Cantoria on Wed Nov 10, 2021 6:26pm

Hi,

We are looking for a 3/4 Bed Villa - Our budget depends on work that needs to be done/the location/the wow-factor

We want a villa with a minimum of 1000 square metres of usable space enclosed or easily enclosable for the dogs. We prefer open plan. Spiral staircases would rule a property out. We are probably looking for build sizes in excess of 140 Square metres. The master must be large and we prefer built in or walk-in wardrobes and definitely a walk-in shower in the master. We prefer kitchens with built in ovens that are not under counter and a separate utility room. A Garage/Workshop would be a positive. Outside kitchen area preferably with a bar area or space to put one in. There has to be a private (minimum 8 x4 Metre) below ground pool. Air-Conditioning in Master and Living room as a minimum. Some form of heating for winter months. A solarium is a bonus. Bedrooms directly off the lounge or living area would be a negative. Outside living space and a fly-screened area is important but if we can add any of these then that's okay if the price is right..

Solar panels for water or some means for heating the pool would be of interest to us.

We don’t want an urbanisation but we also don’t want to be totally remote.

We require a minimum of 3 and probably not more than 4 bedrooms and at least two bathrooms (en-suite)

If we saw the right property at the right price we would be in a position to buy in January

We are here until late January and we don’t mind a bit of a project if the price and the potential realised from the work reflected that

Thanks

Jim

bird scarers - 1 replies

cazley Posted by cazley in General Villaricos discussion on Wed Nov 10, 2021 3:56pm

Considering a move to Villaricos, and are here at the moment. One of our dogs is a nervous wreck due to the continual "gun blast" sounds, which I assume re bird scarers. Does this go on year round or is it seasonal and if so what months does it occur.

Thanks for any info

Vegetable markets - 8 replies

LynH Posted by LynH in General Mojacar discussion on Wed Nov 10, 2021 1:46pm

Hi we live in a village in the Spanish mountains with a 'bolt hole' here in Mojacar.  Today we went to the market in Mojacar Pueblo and all we could say is "Is that it?".   Our little village has twice as many stalls as that.   Is there another market around please?

Recycling of fizzy/soft alloy drink cans in local area - 0 replies

Elaine S Posted by Elaine S in General Mojacar discussion on Tue Nov 9, 2021 10:14pm

I seem to remember hearing on Spectrum Radio, that there was someone collecting these in Mojacar. I am unable to recall the details.

Does anyone on the forum know of any one collecting these for a charity or a good cause ?

Have about 4 sacks of washed uncrushed cans that I would like to donate if possible.(without rings, as these are already being given to a local charity)

Hi. Due to Brexit challanges I am limited on time I can look after my politically incorrect mother (93). She is at her most vulnerable at night time and I am wondering what services exist where a reliable carer could sleep in until day care arrives....... She lives on Mojacar Playa..... 5 mins walk from Thomas' supermarket. Any helpful suggestions appreciated. Thank you. 😊

We are visiting Roquetas de Mar in February to look for a holiday property.

What is open at that time of year, and how busy is the area and off course the weather?

Thank you

Fun activities in Mojacar - 2 replies

George100 Posted by George100 in Things to do and places to go in Mojacar on Tue Nov 9, 2021 12:51pm

Hi - we're John and Jan and will be spending the next 5 weeks in Mojacar.

We'd appreciate any advice / suggestions on the following activities please:

1. Sailing (dinghy and yacht) - we're still learning but know the basics and can crew.

2. Cycling - where to hire/ borrow bikes and routes for the occasional outing. We're fit enough for a full day out but we find mountain climbs less agreeable so prefer to avoid these.

3. Walking - we love hiking. Is there a way of contacting the Mojacar walking club other than using Facebook?

4. Tennis/Padel - we've seen a few Padel courts in Mojacar. Those near the footbal ground appear to be closed. Never played but would like to give it a try.

5. Improving our Spanish. We're making enquiries of free classes in Mojacar pueblo. Any other suggestions?

All the above are great ways for us to meet other residents and visitors during our stay here.

Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help.

Many thanks.

John and Jan
