That is a massive difference in electric. I find Endesa hard work.   It’s only me living here as well lol, so I don’t know how I manage that much electric. Thanks again 😊

The advice for moving to Iberdrola is very helpful and the eight hour plan sounds very good.
I am still an Endesa client and also living alone. I have my 'potencia contratada' on the minimum of 2,3 kWh. That means that you can connect at the same time electricals with a maximum potencial of 2,3 kWh. In the beginning, when it was winter I wasn't used and for running a waterheater, a stove, the coffeepot and the microwave, the light turned out. Than I switched the main button, waited for ten seconds and switched it on again. Now I'm used and control the electric use. Getting down to the lowest potencial makes a lot of difference in the bill.
And now with Endesa I've got the night tarif. So in summer between 11.00pm and 1.00pm the cost per kWh is 6 cents, and the other hours is 14 cents. So I have a timer on the waterheater, run the washing machine in the morning and major cooking also in the morning. It really is quite a difference. So the choice might be: 8 hours to choose when you use or 14 hours night and morning.
I think I'm going to check out Iberdrola, that sounds really good

Hi Johanna :-D. What’s really good about Iberdrola is the smartphone app.  It really is very very thorough and complete.  When we catch up again, would be happy to show you it

The Endesa app isn't bad either. You can follow (with around three days delay) exactly per hour what you've spend. That´s how I could calculate what the most economic way for me was. Iberdrola also has this possibility?

Well you take your wife/partner, sorry we are talking about electricity? Not certain how you swap suppliers but to answer the original question,Potencia Contadado refers to the maximum power you can draw from the supply at any one time and this is limited by  "fuse" in your consumer unit by the supplier . I did not tell you this but it is easy to uprate without informing the supplier.

I just checked the prices that offer Endesa and Iberdrola. It's worth the effort, because the 8 hour plan from Iberdrola looks good, but their prices are way higher than Endesa. So I thought, maybe for the kind of offer and I compared the prices for the night tarif, as they offer both the same, and Yes, Iberdrola is far more expensive than Endesa. So I shall not change

With the possible exception of Telefonica and now that it has merged, Movistar , Endesa are without doubt the least customer-friendly company in Spain and possibly the world.   We changed to Fenie Energie and are saving a lot of money.  Their off peak tarrif is  14 hours a day from 11pm to 1pm in summer and 10pm to noon in winter.  We can get pretty well everything done during this time.  Important to change pool pump timings to fit as these do actually add up to quite a lot.  I don't know if they go as far as Zurgena.  We did it through Avila in Antas who I can't recommend highly enough.

As I understand it, Potencia Contratada is a reference to the amount of power used at the contracted supply; I.e. supply is usually 3,6kW, or 4,3kW etc etc depending on what you have selected when you set the contract up.

As for cheaper, we’ll im with Iberdrola and have their “Elegir 8 horas” plan, so for each day I can select 8 hours (not necessarily contiguous) that will be on cheap rate, and I can select different times for different days.  That halved my electricity bill ....,...

...

Saludos, Darío

Hi Dario

With the 8 hours of cheaper electricity do you pay a higher rate for the rest of the day?
