Is electric really expensive and are there options to get it cheaper. What does Potencia Contratada mean? I thought it was standing charge, but it changes each month. I have had air con in, but not constantly. I don’t understand their charges.

As I understand it, Potencia Contratada is a reference to the amount of power used at the contracted supply; I.e. supply is usually 3,6kW, or 4,3kW etc etc depending on what you have selected when you set the contract up.
As for cheaper, we’ll im with Iberdrola and have their “Elegir 8 horas” plan, so for each day I can select 8 hours (not necessarily contiguous) that will be on cheap rate, and I can select different times for different days. That halved my electricity bill ....,

Should be - we were with Endesa when we took the rental, but swapped to Iberdrola.
Are you owners or renting? If renting, speak to your estate agent .... if owners, I’m very hopeful that another homeowner with more experience will answer that question. That being said, your Abogado should also be able to facilitate a swap. Who are you contracted with at the moment? Endesa?

Glad to be able to help - if you do swap to Iberdrola, they have an EXCELLENT smartphone app that allows complete control of the account from the phone. You can see / download invoices, change plans, change Potencia and if on the “Elegir 8 horas” plan, change the hours you select for cheap rate. Like I say, the hours don’t have to be contiguous and can occur during any 24 hour period.
For example, we have a two hour block in the morning on cheap rate when hot water service is on (it’s on a timer) and also in the afternoon, evening again when service comes on. The other 4 or 5 hours we split during the day for when we have heavy usage. Weekends have different timings to account for washing machine going on etc. Bill has dropped from approx. 105,00€ a month to about 60,00€ a month using this plan.

That is a massive difference in electric. I find Endesa hard work. It’s only me living here as well lol, so I don’t know how I manage that much electric. Thanks again 😊
