Bit of a newbie question! Do you have to get a mortgage with a Spanish bank? And if so what documents do you need to open a bank account?

A bit difficult this one,before Brexit you could arrange a mortgage on the property with a UK institution,now I am not sure hopefully DM will come along with more info
normally bank accounts need you to have proof of address,NIE,residencia,again DM will hopefully have more
as an Extranjero in Spain you will probably only get 70% of valuation
