See you all in 5 years time. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. The people of the U.K. have spoken and the majority of all those MPs who sought to thwart the referendum result are now looking for another job. Have a good festive season one and all.

A happy stat though .... Labour received OVERWHELMING support from ... under 35s, whilst conservatives, with a very very bland manifesto relied on the “older” vote.....
I predict in 5 years time, after fatso Johnson has sent the country to rack and ruin, that the political landscape will look very VERY different, especially under a rejuvenated Labour, under more “acceptable” leadership.
The battle may have been lost but the war is far from over. Anyone who thinks “Brexit” now just becomes something that happened in the past and can be consigned to history has rocks in their head - Brexit will continue to cause turmoil as the full effect of the Tory betrayal of the voters who “lent” BoJo their votes becomes felt.
Johnson (taking his cues now from Cummings, again) has abandoned the “liberal socialism” that helped swing over more traditional Labour voters, and is hell bent not only on not extending the transition period, but on pursuing this stupid wasteful bridge between N. Ireland and Scotland.
Yes ... let’s see what happens in 5 years. Enjoy your Tory Christmas Andy - many of the disabled, sick, elderly and homeless now about to feel the brunt of Tory greed I’m sure will thank you.
Never more so were certain lines from Band Aids “feed the world” so true as they are now “but say a prayer and pray for the other ones, at Christmastime, I know it’s hard when you’re having fun”
I’m angry - VERY angry for I have close relatives in the U.K. who suffer a disability. The callous and indifferent treatment they receive from the DWP and government is ... disgusting. Thank the gods I’m not Christian, for I don’t think I could live with myself celebrating this travesty this year. There’s little to celebrate for those not wealthy enough to exist in Tory Britain.
Enjoy your golden utopia Andy, for it is not destined to last. I foresee a Britain so wrecked, so devasted, so fed up of its traditional values being fed to the maw of Tory greed that U.K. will once again be part of the EU. Not tomorrow, not next year, possibly not in 5 years ... but it will happen. So mote it be
And unto thee I wish a merry solstice and a blessed Yule.
(Footnote: for all the good Christians out there, you do know that Christmas, Trees, Christmas lights, Yule logs, the giving of presents etc are all wonderfully truly Pagan things, don’t you? 😁)
Blessed be

We were robbed. A week ago 53% of votes were for parties representing Revoke, Remain and Renegotiate and have a confirmatory Referendum. 47% voted for parties wanting Leave with a hard Brexit. The minority won because of FPTP.
The irony is - they won’t “Get Brexit Done”. Stage 1 with the Withdrawal Agreement, yes. But it’s not over then, it’s just the end of the beginning. A trade deal is required. A recession looms. We will still be in the Single Market and Customs Union throughout 2020. But we will no longer have a say, we have given up control. Silver lining - the Brexit Party MEPs will be given P45s.

Chris - in the news today:-
Meanwhile, the 15-year limit on expats voting in general elections is to be lifted, allowing UK citizens living abroad to continue casting their ballots for the rest of their lives.
Traditionally this has been seen as a way of boosting the Conservative vote, though Mr Johnson risks a backlash from the million-plus UK citizens in the EU who overwhelmingly supported Remain in the 2016 referendum but were denied a vote.
Methinks that’s going to backfire on BoJo .....

We are doomed, we are all doomed, I guess the Festive season in your houses will be a bundle of fun. But just think you will have 5 years to trumpet - 'I told you so' ad nauseum. Take a chill pill and try to relax at least unril January 2nd.

For goodness sake Andy, drag your head from wherever it is buried or shoved and open your eyes. I will celebrate the coming of light on Sunday and I will celebrate Yule, but I find it difficult to “lighten up” and that because it’s Christmas that we can ignore the privations of those who will know no joy this Yule. I spare a thought for them, for I cannot spare much more, sadly.
You - aye, YOU, and thousands like you, must now bear the responsibility for what is to come. But I doubt you will - true Tories never acknowledge responsibility and merely point the finger elsewhere, all the while enjoying the fat of others hardship.
There WILL be redress, there will be, as the stock market so quaintly coins it, “a correction”. There is imbalance, and that will not last. The time is coming, very very soon, when imbalance will be redressed, and the current order will begin to change.
Like I say, enjoy your utopia Andy, while it lasts, because the wheel turns - oh, do you know the words to “keep the red flag flying”? - come the glorious day Citizen, the revolution will make it mandatory for all former Tories to sing it proudly in public and proclaim their love for the new socialist order 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (for those that don’t see the emoji’s, I’m no more unhinged than normal and am just taking the mickey - and mis-quoting Citizen Smith)

Oh dear me, Scrooge at his very best.
Its called democracy Dario. By the way, I did not vote in the GE as I feel living in Spain does not give me the right to choose a Government for the peoples of the UK. Their choice not mine, but as I say, that's democracy for you.

You really are the only person I know that can say “democracy” and make it read like the most vile expletive imaginable.
Scrooge? Clearly you do not know the message within “A Christmas Carol” - being joyful in the face of the privations of others means you are the one getting the visit from the 3 ghosts, not me 😁
And again I bid thee merry Solstice and a blessed Yuletide
