I was just watching a video on Youtube made today about a book released back in 1995 and the red tape/paperwork, unemployment and most things in fact have not changed in Spain during the last 25/30 years.  Maybe it's part of why we love the place................then again lol.

Not changed? 30 years ago this part of Spain had no Autovias, electricity was 110 Volts and telephones were a pay phone, one to each barrio in the receptador of someones house.

Does  Oria  still have restrictions regarding going out of the municipality , just the last few days we have seen a lot of traffic on our little track which only leads into the Albox  Zone ! Oria appears to have quite a lot of Covid around, so don't want to walk about  to much .

I don't think we're 40 yrs behind.  More like 100 yrs ahead of Europe :)  Which is the main reason I am hesitant to move to Spain.  I am originally from Ireland and Spain seems to be on par with Ireland, ie a third world country.  Especially when it comes to medicine.

I have lived in both countries and know the difference between the Continent and the Island
