See attached dark sky and its correct always is.

Actually no I don't take them in. They are growing in our orchard. You need to stop this silliness. Get your facts right or remain silent!

Utterly agree with you about the weather.

As for the "dangerous" drive up to Oria that I presume the other writer comments about ... again I don't understand where this person gets their "facts" from. The road to Oria is an extremely good and safe road and certainly better than most U.K. roads! No potholes either!...

...

As to the "snow", again, I'm completely gobsmacked! We had about 0.5 inches of snow twice last year and the year before and the sun came out in the morning and it disappeared by 10am. Other than that, I have not seen snow in the four years I've lived here.

The lady is visiting in December and I'm sure she's wise enough to make up her own mind.

I do agree with you the roads going by the Tantora. This is where I was going to buy a villa really this was oria but still flat. After that it raises up.

I drove the other way to oria from the Albox carpark going along side the rambler and then the roads are nice and tarmac but very dark and bendy

My wife sits in the passenger seat and can't wait to either get there or back home she would never drive there herself if you miss a corner you are over a cliff.

Apart from that they are lovely and smooth.

There's an old Scottish saying, there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing'. The same goes for houses, get them well insulated, and a decent heating system (like you'd do in Britain), and you're sorted.

We live higher up the road from Oria, going on 1200 mtrs, and our house is lovely and cozy, also, we used to grow citrus trees, no problem with the weather, unfortunatley they got diseased.

As for the road up here, "cliffs" I've never seen any?

Puff

Thanks so much. Your comments are very useful to me.

I am Italian from south Italy and I am used to the heat, but as I am getting older I don’t like temperatures hotter than 30 Celsius. I also lived in London for 35 years so I got used to cold winters.

It seems to me that if you live by the coast, the weather can be up to 40 Celsius in July and August and I find that pretty unbearable, so best some colder winter months, but not too hot summers. Grey sky is something that it’s hard to get used to, even after so many years in London. I like bright, sunny days, it doesn’t matter if it’s cold as long as it’s mainly sunny. At least these are my preferences. But all your comments have been useful to me. I am so happy that I found this group.

I am not sure how long it has been since you travelled the road from the motorway but there are crash barriers all the way up so there is no way you could drop down the cliff.  I am 74 and I drive that road every week with no fear at all.  I would add that there are no lights on that road so you need to be carefully driving at night.

I live in Oria village and I have 2 orange trees and 1 lemon tree in my garden.  1 of the orange trees is a winter fruiting and at the moment it is full of very large oranges they will be ready for picking Dec and Jan.  My son in law loves coming over for the 3 Kings and enjoys having fresh orange juice with his breakfast.  As we said you cannot always believe what people say.

Hello All

Well I moved to Spain 2 years ago now and I looked into oria as it has the best prices for villas. After looking into it big time as I do. I found out its nearly as high as snowdon. So that's  why it has very cold winters. It gets very windy. Nice weather in the summer they grow all almonds trees and no orange trees. Rain why the houses are cheaper because its like our colder than the uk in winter. I lived this villa as it was big and lovely. My wife also loved it but said why would you move to a place colder in the winter than UK. She wanted to move somewhere warmer in the winters that's why she wanted to move to Spain. But not Oria as she didn't want it colder. I have lived in Albox 3 years now and it's cold here but not oria cold and I am glad now I never bought there as its too cold. Now and again I drive there and I am so glad I didn't buy as I wouldn't want that drive everyday. You must just get use to it. That's all I can say. But the lady coming out here in Dec have a good look. We would have to drive it everyday to take kids to school and I couldn't of done that now as I don't like the drive not alone 2 times a day.

Sorry if you are all don't like my comments but they are all true.
