Villas are cheaper as its so cold

We live in Albox and its cold enough here Oria is approx 4 or 5 degs cooler

But more wind, snow etc.

It's the same height as snowdon so it's cold. Google snow in oria. They don't grow oranges or lemons there

Only Almonds and to grow these it has to be cold to grow them.

I am only telling you the truth so you know.

I grow oranges and lemons, plums, nectarines, mandarines, limes, apples, pears, loquats, cherries, apricots, quince, walnuts and avocados besides the almonds on the farm. So much for your "facts"!

I can just picture a "Victor Meldrew". Lol!

Well that's the most biased view if ever I read one. What utter rubbish. It says you are located in Albox which is about 16km by road and 11 km as the crow flies from Oria and you claim that it is colder here than the U.K. in winter?

I sympathise with your friend not being able to afford to heat his or her house but that does not give you the reason to get your facts wrong! On average we are 2-3°C different to you in Albox and that is a fact....

...

It's the old story. People who get second hand information then expand on it. Chinese Whispers ...

Surely as I said earlier, it's for the writer to visit and make up her own mind rather that getting so called "facts" from all and sundry. Having lived in Albox, I know where I prefer to live. Oria!

Hello

I have been there many times. I was going to buy a villa there myself as the prices are great. The villa I looked at was lovely big bedrooms way bigger than I have here.

I visited there many times before buying to check for myself and I always check the weather. Well I only have given my true opinion what I have seen myself. And I am glad I didn't buy there. Driving there now many times I hate the drive now.

Let the lady see for herself and don't forget your thick coat.

Nice in the summer

Colder than UK in winter

People we knew had to move as they couldn't afford to heat their villa

Hence property's are much cheaper and thats the reason.

Plus I don't like the drive up there very dangerous driving. Plus it shows and vet windy.

Once you get use to the heat all summer you will feel the cold even more.

Colder than UK

Good luck

Sorry to disagree about the colder than the UK.  We still get sun in the day but not hot.  We do not get the frost or snow like the uk.  I have been here 10 years and it has snowed twice a couple of inches in the morning and the sun has melted it by lunch time.. At times we may have a light frost but once again nothing like the UK.  True we need heating in the evenings and at night, but as we do not need any heating from May to October I just save this money to cover the colder months.  It is commence sense to work your money out.  Although not as cold as the UK it does feel like some sort of seasons which for me I enjoy as I would not like constant heat.  We can get a good night's sleep when the temperature drops.

I wish people would come and spend time here, Google is not right, we do not get snow and the days in the winter are not cold, we can get cold wind on Nov, March or April.  I apologise if I upset anyone but there is a lot of wrong information floating about

Thank you pumpkin for quoting the correct info.  It is annoying when people pass around the incorrect stories

Utterly agree with you about the weather.

As for the "dangerous" drive up to Oria that I presume the other writer comments about ... again I don't understand where this person gets their "facts" from. The road to Oria is an extremely good and safe road and certainly better than most U.K. roads! No potholes either!

As to the "snow", again, I'm completely gobsmacked! We had about 0.5 inches of snow twice last year and the year before and the sun came out in the morning and it disappeared by 10am. Other than that, I have not seen snow in the four years I've lived here.

The lady is visiting in December and I'm sure she's wise enough to make up her own mind.

Oria is very nice and days are nice now all I was saying its cold at night and also will be cold in the daytime when winter starts in Feb.

It's nearly the same height as snowdon in UK this is why its cold.
