I hear some people manage it with one overnight stay and I’ve also heard if couples who have driven over night in relays (one drives and one sleeps). I like my bed too much for that! I guess it depends how much time you have.

I’ve just booked and found dog friendly hotels quite easy to find although they tend to charge and extra 10 euros For the dog. Andy ...

Great info many thanks

Hello

Yes you can bring your dog to Spain on the ferry, we have just been sending the information to our friends who are coming to UK for a holiday - they live in Spain, the ferry has kennels and you can go up during the crossing and take your dog for a walk, the dog cannot stay in your cabin.   Our friends and in Malaga they plan to drive to BURGOS area - north of Madrid and stay in a hotel there which is dog friendly and the dog stays in your room with you, I can forward you the details if it will help you.   Have you found your house in Oria because my friends are selling their house in Oria and it is really nice.  If I can help with anything else just ask.

Debra

re the ferry, some of brittany ferries have 'pet friendly' cabins, this is from their website

Cap Finistère is also equipped with 17 pet friendly cabins. Etretat has 13 pet friendly cabins and Baie de Seine has 14 pet friendly cabins. These cabins comfortably accommodate a single pet, however if you are travelling with more than one and wish to discuss your options please contact us and one of our reservations agents will be able to help with your arrangements.

Dogs are only permitted in pet friendly cabins and dedicated exercise areas. Dogs booked into kennels are not allowed in any of the interior areas of the ship and are strictly forbidden in normal cabins.
