I am currently.waiting for irish passport&then will re-locate. Have been looking at CDsol area(cave houses or poss village house in whote washed village) but am.considering Almaria area. Are there any quiet white washed villages with quirky properties(dont want apartment or villa) want quirky. Single woman who wants to integrate as lived in UK all my life
Hi Vera, It's nice to have another Paddy around with all these Panama Hatted Brexiteers hopping off me here every day. The bottom line is you have to decide between CdS and C. Almería. The deciding point for me was that many who lived and worked in CdS for years chose Costa Almería in which to retire and so we bought in Mojacar Playa. Wheatever is available in CdS is also available in C Almería but cheaper. Some dreadful mistakes were made in CdS with high rise, crime, traffic, airports, heavy populated areas etc. I'm not saying that everything is perfect in Costa Almería, but certainly the region has learnt from the mistakes in CdS.
. . . . and the weather is marginally warmer and drier in C. Almería. OK! Difference between CdS and C Almeria is a no-brainer. Don't tell anybody in CdS or they'll be coming in their droves.
I suggest you rent for several weeks in the off season wherever you wish to reside. You will learn not only if that region is for you, but if Spain is for you. Best of Luck for your future.

Hello&thank.you for that. I have looked at properties in Almaria on line¬hing is "grabbing my attention". As for CDs i would be looking "inland" not on the coast as i want space, not very touristry, dont want neighbours too close lol. Its a difficult decision😭🤣
there are lots of quirky village places inland in Almeria try outside Albox or Arboleas, if you want cave houses try Cuevas del Amanzora they have lots there you will need a car though and some Spanish.

When moving inland the properties are a pot cheaper. There are a few estate agents in Albox which is a good place to start. I am on my own and. Living in Oria about half hour from Albox, lovely village and very safe. When looking for somewhere to live consider shops, medical centre etc are not far away from your home.
Good luck
