Advice on the postal service please?

Hi Roz, we've had the following reply to your message on our Facebook page:

"Hi Roz I dont know about your area but it may work like mine. I live in La Alfoquia and although we have post boxes we dont have a postman. We have CATS Services in our village who help ex pats who need help for certain things and for a small fee they collect all post and u pick it up from them. You will probably have a similar service in your area. Hope that helps. They also arrange post u want to send too. Lorraine"

I am on the Rambla de Oria and we have post delivered the one of four mail boxes situated at the bottom of our drive. Most post is from Endesa (electric bills) but we have also had cards left to advise that a parcel to big for the post box needs to be collected from the main post office in Albox. I am sure locals around you can advise or look out for the yellow Correos vans and bikes they use. Hope this helps :)

We recently took a place on in Los Almendros, Oria. Prevous owner didn't tell us that post gets delivered to a big yellow Correos box at start of Camino Viejo! The post office 'oficina postal' is a little office behind the town hall, but may only be open for about an hour at lunchtime. I took all post for previous owner there and the lady in the office dealt with it all. We have had nothing for them since then.When you move in check with a neighbour about where your post gets delivered to and if you need a key for a Correos box.Good luck with your move.Brian
