Back to the original question- if it was the folk on bargain living brits in the sun, I remember thinking they may have been getting a means tested top up to their pension in the UK- which they wouldnt be entitled to here.  Shows the lesson of doing your research... but can we trust the the goal posts aren't moved!

False, we've been receiving  our pensions here for the last 12 yrs, no deductions at al, that would be agains the British law. They might not have had enough stamps on their card if they ever worked. Bad publicity is far better to see on the news than good.

just been to pay my tax bill and got a nice surprise of a €1.61 refund as i didn't take my private pension last year with the lockdown and only had some interest {not much given the low rates} a few Premium Bond prizes and my state pension.  Even Hubby's tax bill was less than last years which was a surprise but a nice one.

You did not receive your state pensión in Spain? Ok but if it sent into your Uk Bank account,you should have declared it in Spain .

Why is it not sent each Month from the Uk pensiones office director into your Spanish bañk account .?

our UK state pensions are sent direct to our Spanish bank accounts thank you and then we declare them on our tax return as income of course,
