Sorry Matthew, no sympathy. He’s a professional footballer on 200k a week. If he can’t hit a target of 192 sq feet from a distance of 18 yds he doesn’t deserve sympathy. Different story if the goalkeeper makes a good save.

Harry Kane is a true professional footballer. He is not God and subject to making mistakes like the rest of us. It’s only sport and we should not lose sight of that. Garret Southgate and the squad gave excellent entertainment in qualifying and participating in the competition.
