Hey
I love Mojacar and want to live there.
I'm too young to retire so need to work still at least part time.
Im happy to do most jobs.
Would I be able to find some work as I don't know much Spanish.
Kind Regards
Paula

Being a Spanish speaker - even a bit - will certainly smooth your path. At this time of year in Mojácar it’s a little difficult as a lot of employment is seasonal and many of the hotels and chiringuitos in Mojácar have closed until next year.
That’s not to say you won’t find work; it’s entirely possible you’ll pick up part-time bar work or similar there. I wouldn’t hold your breath for a full-time contract though, they are incredibly hard to secure as it costs employers a lot in Autónomo (Spanish equiv. of National Insurance)
Thank you for your reply, I will bear this in mind. Do you know much about Vera? Went there for a day visit whilst staying in Mojacar. May be more jobs there as it seemed busier than Mojacar.
Thank you
Paula

Hi Paula - yes, I know Vera very very well - we have our business there on the centre of town. Vera is very much a Spanish speaking town, and although quite busy year round, there’s not a whole lot of employment.
I think I'm going to have this problem where ever I live in Spain.
Going to save and learn more Spanish is my only hope.
In England I'm a trained pharmacy advisor, but I'm happy to just do cleaning if that's all I can get
Kind Regards

As a pharmacy advisor - here, you’d definitely need Spanish. Depending on where you settle, I can introduce you to an absolutely fabulous Spanish teacher when you get here if you like
Please bear in mind as a UK citizen you may NOT be allowed to take up any employment in EU country if there is No Deal.
Can't see that happening or it would mean that EU citizens couldn't get employment in the UK.
That's is exactly what a No deal Would mean..
Freedom of Movement was one of the main reasons the majority voted Leave.

NOT quite accurate - if the poster arrives before Brexit day and either applies for Residencia or can prove legal residence by way of Padrón then they would be quite entitled to work in the event of a no deal; if they arrive after and again, it’s no deal, there exists in Spain a law that deals with how UK citizens will be treated - they get until December 2020 to obtain TIE during which period, they are entitled to work. Please bear in mind, both of the above are in the event of “no deal” - I would still hope the outcome is in fact “no Brexit”
