Hi Sandra,

Spain is a wonderful country with so much to do. Properties inland are not only cheaper but generally larger. I live up in the mountains about an hour away from the coast, which gives me the tranquillity but never too far from entertainment. I have found the English speaking people in the village...

...s always very helpful and kind. I decided to buy a new car when I first arrived and to give you an idea of budget, 3 bed house plus furniture and white goods together with car and all fees etc approx 80.000 euro. The roads are really good with little traffic. I find the heat on the coast too much and for too long; in my area (Chirivel) its a comfortable 25-about 30 in the summer. with if you are lucky snow at Christmas.

Good luck with the move if this is the route for you.

Paul

Interesting Paul as I prefer the Lakes and Mountains and changing seasons although currently on the coast... food for thought

Agree Ian it depends on different DOB etc, I have always kept on top of my pension forcecast and spoken to the appropriate people to confirm. Mine is definitely 66 also.

Hi we are also in the mountains about 40 minutes from the coast and fully agree with Paul.

The slight breeze makes the heat comfortable and the house prices are astounding we bought an upside down house with the bedrooms partly in the rock (cooler) for a third of the price of our smaller U.K. house. 30-40 minutes inland makes all the difference. Snow? We had 3mm just enough to make it pretty. Best of luck with your move. Bob

Hi Bobby,

This sounds lovely to depart from the heat! Where about is this, 40 mns from the coast? I am doing some location planning myself, so grateful for any tips.

Thank you

Nadine

We are about 14 k North of Gergal in a very small village probably not for you as it’s so quiet but I was reinforcing paulj’s Comment

Plenty of places like Abrucena, Abla, Gergal itself and Taburnass to choose from.

Good lu
