When this all started, pretty much every country was, and still is, doing things differently from each other. Can't see picking on the UK specifically helps.

What seems obvious, now, is how easily spreadable this is. As at this morning, Fri 20th, the WHO official stats show it took three MONTHS to infect 100,000 people. It then took 12 days to infect another 100,000 people. Current confirmed total is just over 209,000. ...

...

China has over 80,000 infected with a 1 in 25 death rate. Italy, under half that, has a 1 in 12 death rate. The overall death rate is 1 in 24 across the world.

We can blame anyone and everyone as much as we like but, this has simply caught the world out.

Boris should do what Spain has done.  Simple

Still falling down.  You were right the first time.   U.K. should be Closed. By not ordering Pubs ,restaurants etc to close. They cannot claim on insurances , they would then claim the govt.  money, money ,money.     As per.  He still wants herd immunity and lose a few thousand pensioners. Savings all round.    🤬

Hi James (although I don't know why I am being so friendly to a guy who wanted me banned from this forum, but I believe everybody is entitled to their opinion and so it is with James).

I have an invitation to Carol's terrace to share a drop of vino and a conversation with her husband. Dario also has had an invitation. I haven't replied to Carol's kind gesture yet but my baseball cap might look out of place amongst Panama hats on other terraces....

...

I forgot to add that my "Germanic" references  and other countries will not cease.

Matthew, Matthew!  I suggested to Bill that we meet up for coffee and that you come too.  Dario invited himself😂😂😂

The more the merrier😉😉

I must ask...what are Panama hat people?

Hi James and Carol and other viewers too.

The Panama Hat Brigade -synopsis discription:- A group of inspired, retired assholes sitting on a high stool at the bar of certain eateries in Mojacar Playa sipping "'alfs" like it were life's blood and who try to run the life of everybody else although not making much effort themselves. They're quite good at looking in bar mirrors and eavesdropping on nearby intelligent conversations. Their dutiful wives/partners sit at a nearby table stupidly supporting every word uttered at the bar like they were the female Bamber Gascoignes of all expats. Don't think while inviting them to your terrace that you'll be invited to theirs as they think they are a different* kind of people. (*Codeword for Asshole). Usually, they start conversations with the words "The hard pressed British taxpayer . . . " Incidentally, it years since they themselves paid tax in the UK, if they ever paid tax there. The wearing of a Panama Hat is optional. They use such as disguise.

I haven't checked Covid-19 news on the BBC today yet; I hear reports of people interviewed on Irish radio that the Underground (London) still carries people jammed like sardines in a tin. Some Irish are still entering pubs through back doors, some teenagers keep drinking in some of our public parks. I think the UK and Ireland will have to come under full lock-down very shortly - just my opinion and that of another poster above (L181SKY - confusing Username). I hope Senor Johnson is looking in.

I must give credit to Dr Motherway who explained the truth of the effects and consequences of Covid-19 on Irish television last night.  She was clear of what will happen if we dismiss directives.

The main message I'm getting from Boris Johnson's latest directives is that he is taking the running of the UK in his own hands rather than his advisors. Remember I was screaming for this last week.
