Hi lovely to here from you.

Our first few nights were awful! No gas bottles,  no wood for the fire. We went to bed fully dressed with our coats on and hats! The house had been left for years. Like I said buy electric blankets. Is this a holiday home?

Kind regards

Sarah

Same here. We intend to take the ferry from Harwich over to Holland and drive down through France for about 3 weeks before heading to the house but not for a couple more years as we both still work. Our village is about 20 minutes from yours. The trip over eith a van is exhausting isn't it!

If I can help with anything let me know

X

Hi we have a holiday home also on Calle San Jose! You have bought the house opposite ours off our good friend. We are here now for two weeks. We love this village as its definitely one off the best. There is a small bar in the village and a large hotel just outside the village. That's were we wal...

...k in the evenings for a drink. They also do food and have live bands playing. Baza is about 20 minutes away. There you will find every shop you need including furniture shops, electrical shop, Mercadona, Lidl, Burger King and loads of Chinese bazar shops where we have spent hours! Our village is very peaceful and you have two of the nicest people as neighbours. In Velez Rubio you will find a beautiful church, a Spar and a ginormous swimming pool with smaller kids pools and slides with a bar and restaurant. Take your lawn chairs and spend the day. The next town is Velez Blanco has a stunning castle and is free to go in with the most amazing views.

Let me know if you need anymore information and hopefully we can meet for a drink one day

Sarah

Oh wow that's not long how exciting! Hope it all goes well. Are you taking furniture with you as there's a lovely furniture shop in Baza? We bought our sofa from there x

Hi Carol we did took the ferry to Santander. Its quite a drive down so we stayed in Madrid to break up the trip.

When you fly Murcia or Almeria are closer than Alicante.  Ryanair sometimes have a sale and it's £14.99 each way. We have taken enough clothes and left them at the house so no need for suitcases.

Yes the village can get busy in the summer as kids are left there with grandparents.  They can be a bit noisy but just say hello rather than telling them off. They are just bored but they are good kids.

It always amazes me when we arrive late and there are people quietly chatting in the village square at 2am and toddlers playing as this is the coolest time in the summer.

We planned each room and loaded the van in order so as we unloaded we dumped everything in each room . We wished we had just bought the furniture as that furniture shop on Baza was one off the best I've seen. It is huge! There's a big Lidl and Mercadonia so you can buy your essentials instead of taking them.

We were interested in your house as the views from the roof terrace blew us away. We have no view! I said that I  would move the table out of the kitchen to open it up and move it into the downstairs living room to make a dinning room.  I would use the room off the roof terrace as my living room. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

I'm sure you will love the peace and quiet but there's plenty of places to visit if you use it as a base.

We are there on the 30th August for two weeks and am counting down the days. I would be happy to live there full time, maybe one day.

At least you won't be the only new people there as the house round the corner has also sold and so have 2 others all to Brits.

Xx
