Having lived in the uk in a busy town with local bus or train routes on your doorstep it was taken for granted....but actually as there is none here, I've got use to driving everywhere and would probably prefer using the donkey method anyway! Actually probably not, as I would feel guilty putting my weight on that poor donkeys back !! So basically dont expect too many local buses/trains ha ha ha! If you want to take a bus  get on one in morning and come back in the night = 2 a day!!

Hi Anne

I don't know if you are perhaps already sorted but we are renovating a small house in Lubrin for long term rental. Lubrin is a lovely traditional Spanish village with a small expat community. It is about 40 minute drive to mojacar and there is a twice daily bus to Almeria . If you don't have a car you can be fairly self sufficient in Lubrin. It has three butchers, a fishmongers, two small supermercados and a market every Wednesday.

WE have our own house here and we liked it so much we decided to also do a rental property. We spend the winter out here and the summer back in Scotland.

We are looking for 375 euro per month and you would be responsible for bills for water/electric/wifi.

If you are interested then please just get in touch

Hi Tracy, I read your post and it could have been me that wrote it! We are also looking to rent in Almeria area maybe November 2020 for three months, never been to the area but we seem to be drawn to it for some reason? I would love to find out how you are getting on with your plans. I am struggling to find out about winter flights for my family to visit but I am sure we will find out in due course. Hope all is going to plan.

Hi Linda & Paul,

Flights mainly from Alicante from Nov to end March. There are a few from Almería & Murcia during these months but only to/ from London airports.
Hope this helps & good luck.

Hi Gilly, thanks for the information, just messaged Jet2 to Check when winter schedules are released, seems like there are a few flights but not from Leeds & Bradford which is where our family live, they would be visiting us hopefully so need to find easiest flights option. Many thanks

I have a friend who has a place in Arboleas and I have been to Albox several times, I don't think there is a fly problem more than anywhere else in Spain. Don't think they have any pig farms there.
