Hi me and my partner are moving to Almeria in the next few months . We are looking at villas in Arbloeas, Partaloa or Albanchez . We have heard rumours that there is a bad fly problem. Can anyone comment on this. Also what is the internet connection like as my partner works remotely. Would appreciate any help. Also would be nice to meet up for a drink when we come to view properties to get to know people . Mills and Dave

Unfortunately you get flies everywhere. They tend to be worse close to pig farms etc in our experience.
We are in Albanchez where the flies aren’t too bad, it’s a lovely little town, only 20 minutes from Albox and 45 to the coast.
Couple of small supermarkets, 3/4 bars, 24 hour medical centre,hairdresser, bank, cash machine and a mobile bank, hardware store and a general store/ tabac, church, small market on Thursday, bread, fish vans, plus gas bottles twice a week but for anything else we pop up to Albox.
Also the property is cheap!

Sorry, forgot to say that you can have fibre broadband in the village. We have reliable 300 up and down plus 2 mobile numbers for 38 euros a month, think you can get faster.
Flies and wasps are just part of life in Spain, and like already said, worse if you live near pig or chicken farms.
