My wife and I are retired Americans living in a waterfront condo in Florida.  I'm a Brit by birth, but now a long-time U.S. citizen.  We've toured much of Spain but not the Almeria coast and are being enticed and intrigued by gorgeous locales and relatively reasonable property prices (rental and sale).  Being totally ignorant about the area we are reaching out for advice from area expats who'd be willing to communicate with us via email regarding the realities of full-time living in Almeria.  In addition, we'll be looking for advice and recommendations regarding transportation and lodging in preparation for an extended exploratory visit.  Anyone willing to participate in a little hand-holding and mentoring with potential new Yank neighbors?  Please send me a PM if you have the time and inclination.

Does anyone know if buying an item on line <mobile phone>from a company in Switzerland to send to me in Mojacar would attract additional charges at customs.Some forums say yes some say no, some say may be, something to do with Switzerland not being in the EU but in the EFTA ? I'm confused.

Where can i buy small electrical appliances near Garrucha/Mojacar

My husband and I are looking to come back to Mojacar next year, but the rental agency we are with at the moment is far from satisfactory. Can anyone recommend a long term rental agent or know of anyone whos renting their house or apartment along the playa somewhere. Thanks for your help.

Spending Christmas in Mojacar, can I buy a Christmas tree locally?

We are coming to Mojacar in January,  due to complete on our property in December.  We will be here from 10th  - 15th and would like to buy some beds that could be delivered before we go back!  We can drive to other towns.   Does anyone know a good place with comfy beds that keeps some stock!  Very grateful for any recommendations or advice.  Thanks Liz and Simon

UK national currently resident in Mexico looking to move to Spain. Brexit appears to be adding urgency so I am looking for recommendations for legal / gestor type help in planning a trip this January to establish "nominal" ( i.e. I will need to return to America for closing up of property sales etc ) residency ahead of the March 29 deadline.

Have seen advert in Almeria life for C&G legal ( Carmen Guerra ) - anyone used ? / refs ?

Alternative suggestions ?

Plan currently to arrive around Jan 10th - hotel in Almeria for up to 6 weeks , depending on requirements for residenciá possible rent cheap apartment for a year ( for "residence" purpose only ) so I can travel back across the pond returning to Spain likely late summer.
