Hi,

It Worked out for us at €47k all in ..kitchen/lights/shower screen/air con extra ...might be better if your calculations are from £ sterling.

And is that a 2 bed apartment? Sounds like good value.

Hi

Yes it’s a spacious 2 bed apartment...we viewed loads over the last year ..even on holiday last year in lanzorete we viewed apartments...and they were €120 k for one bedroom apartments and some would need to be gutted before you could use it .these apartments are well worth a look ...they are nearly all gone .as in previous post management company is being set up and collecting funds to sort out upkeep of complex.

Thanks for that Trev and Dee. Im trying to make time for a visit. But I hope you'll enjoy your apartment very much. Im on the southern Costa Blanca. There are a number of Irish people in my local folk club and they all seem very talented. Trouble is they make my ukelele playing look ham fisted. I must try and learn an Irish tune ...Good luck. Hi everyone in this thread. We are looking at an apartment in this complex mentioned in this thread.

What was needed to be done? We have been told there is no kitchen.

Is pool treated, heated and usable all year around or only in summers? Is there a local grocery shop? Restaurant? What is community like?

Charges for council tax, water and electricity?

Has anyone tried to rent their apartment out when not there themselves?

Any other things we should think about, please?

Regards

Christine

hi christine

the apartments need kitchen and shower screen, wardrobes have no shelving in them.

we bought one and are very happy with it ..they are big and spacious, there is a mixed community, scottish ,english, irish, belgium, etc ..and a lot of spanish .there is no air con installed but is ready for air con to be installed ,we got a price €2500.....we were told by estate agent and bank keyholder when viewing that pool would be up and running by last summer ...but since we met several neighbours who want pool sorted that the spanish community dont want pool .this is extreamly disapointing ...but possibly the people that want pool might be able to sort it ourselves...the village is a nice friendly place with two shops and 1 bar other bar was closed when we were last there.we met some ex pats in the local bar aned were lovely helpful people.electricity bills were mad at first even tho we were not there but have since been corrected. we got wifi installed .to install cost 70 euro and 19 euro a month...its 25 euro a month community charges.

we dont rent it so have no idea of cost/returns on that.

hope this info is off some help.

regards,

trev ..dee

Hi Nigel,

I saw your post and I am in the same situation as you.

Would you be able to give me same insight about your process.

I am interested in the same apartment in Illar.

I am planning to go there in the end of March.

I am looking for an inglish/Spanish speak solicitor.

Do you think is possible to get a mortgage for the apartment?

I can see  there will be lot of extra costs.

Please if you can let me know which  property agency you use.

I would like to thank you in advance for your information.

Regards,

  Dias

Hi Dias

I'll tell you what I know,

Our solicitor was Angela Morales based in Mojaca, she speaks good English

I might be easier to get a mortgage, depend on your mortgage supplier

Yes there will be further charges, but the initial cost of the apartment far outways the other costs, see previous posts from teacher 1234.

We used Spanish property expert as our agent.

Regards

Nigel
