Is it true I’m only allowed to leave spain for 6 months in 5 years once I have Residencia in spain? Hopefully they will take into consideration the fact I’m stuck in uk with the COVID restrictions. Any help will be great.  Karen x

You are able to travel back to Spain as you are a Spanish resident.

So unlikely Spanish government will accept Covid as an excuse or reason for being out of Spain more than 6 months.

It depends on when you got residency.  If you got your residency under the “old” system, you are obliged to spend 183 days a year in Spain - so you can spend up to 6 months a year outside Spain.

If it was gained under the “new” system, (which beings you are in the UK now I doubt), then you’d be restricted to a maximum of 10 months aggregate in 5 years outside Spain.

Also if you have had residency more than 5 years, then you are free to spend up to 5 years continuous outside Spain.
