I have heard that when you have completed 5 years residency you are entitled to free Spanish healthcare. Check it out on the UK gov website.

i thought tat but alas you need to wait for 1 year then apply and then after that you pay 60 euros a month each to have it until you are 65 then it goes up to 165 euro a month each until you are officially retired

My friends have just completed five years as residents and now recieve free healthcare, they are aged 62 and 57 and they don't pay anything.

i would love more information on how this would be done we have another 2 years to go but that would be wonderful as we pay about 400 euros a month for this pleasure at the moment to get the Spanish nhs including Autonamo, accountants, rent ,electricity and petrol and of course out time

Just found this.  It would appear that after 5 years, as a permanent resident, you are entitled to full Spanish Healthcare, contrary to my earlier assertion - my apologies
