Hi Maz

Yes, phone the Pension service just the same as  S1. They will send it to your Spanish address. You then need to have both documents translated. Then copy them so you have two or three copies of each.

You dont need anything to do about savings.

Just as a follow up to the pension question make sure that as soon as you arrive here and have 'settled' make sure to inform the DWP that you have moved. Your Pension account will be sent to the 'UK International Pension Centre'.

there are differences,

If you have your Pension paid into a Spanish account they will only pay monthly. If you have it paid into a UK account they will continue to pay it weekly.

Hi, I'm still trying to buy, if I can ever get a flight!  As to pensions, do they have to be paid in Spain? We will have more than enough over from our UK house sale and will deposit this in a Spanish bank and that is what we intend to live on. Is that OK with Residencia or must we have a pension paid in Spain?

All Spain wants to see is either sufficient annual average balance in an account or a regular income.  I believe there are many who get paid into a UK account and this has been accepted; I am not certain what documentation from the bank you require though.

anyone following this can enlighten Bobbyweaf as to what documentation from a UK bank is required to prove pension income? (Under “old” Residencia pre-end transition period rules)

Hi thanks but what I am trying to do is leave my pension out of the question altogether. The sum we will have in our Spanish bank will be certainly more than sufficient, without going into details

Then as long as you arrive before end of transition period, you should be fine.

All one needs to satisfy the Residencia requirement until the end of the year is a statement from DWP confirming your pension entitlement and the amount. DWP are happy to send this. It comes in the form of a letter. If you are entitled to a UK pension there is no need to disclose any other financial information. You will need to have the DWP document/letter legally translated.

The officina de extranjero are not interested whether its in a bank or not - they just want official confirmation of income.
