Does anybody know if the vet in Vera will let me register my dog with them to save on the ridiculous fee for the EHC?

Just paid £380 for my 2 dogs to come to Spain for 3 weeks.

Thank you

You’ll certainly be able to go to the vets, as long as you have valid (for EU) pet passports.

If I may offer a suggestion though, if you are looking to save money, you’d be better off going to the Vets in Garrucha, or better, Ellen in Turre.  VeraVets are … well, they are a profit-making business first.  Standard of animal care is higher at both Turre and Garrucha as well.

I have used all three vets and I think you are being ridiculous you imply that only Veravet make a profit and who are you to judge a vets expertise, unlike you I will not slander one of them but I will say that having paid all three of them for treating my dogs Veravet are not the most expensive and did not sell me a ointment that was out of date, as one did.

You assume I have no experience.  I have a great deal of experience with VeraVet and a cat suffering Feline CKD.

Simply put, I shall never go back to VeraVet.  What you do is your choice and I really couldn't care.

I didn't question your experience I said and repeat you are ridiculous to imply that only Veravet are in business to make a profit and again unlike you will not go into detail about why I will never use one of them again, your first post was in answer to a question that seems to ask if a vet would break the law  and you took that as an opportunity to slander Veravet for what was a bad experience with your cat. I am sure most pet owners have changed vets at some time or other for what they thought was a poor standard of care and while it is upsetting at the time we should remember that they do a wonderful job and like all humans make mistakes from time to time.

I think you are asking if you can get a Spanish pet passport for your dog to travel to Spain.

We got one for our dog last year from the vet in Vera Playa behind the Consum supermarket. It only cost about €25 plus rabies jab around €15 much cheaper than EHC. You will need an address in Spain to register the dog and will need a rabies jab every year which can only be done by an EU vet.

The EHC is a joke and a lot of British vets have stopped doing them because of all the time it takes them hence the extortionate cost.
