Cool...

By the way what are the best size hooks to use for shore fishing?

Can you have 3 rigs off the main line or is the limit two?

Cheers

I've tried 3 rigs it's a nightmare, always tangles, and snags reeling in.especially on the rocks.the waves can be BRUTAL. regarding hooks it totally depends on what your fishing with tony.ive fished with prawns, rag, lug,&even cut up fish. Personally I only ever cought a cold,lol..I fish like the Spanish now and I always catch.!!..its the Spanish way all day for me and that's on crusty bread.its stays out there for 40min to hr.(then desolves).or you catch.

Regarding hooks I use 6........size 10/12. Hooks 🪝 in 1 pieces of bread in the pics provided.

In a hangman's noose all around the bread..(press them into the crusty bread.). There's a great tackle shop on mojacar playa, in the REPSOL.heading away from Garrucha.  It's called. NAUTIC PESCA EL MOLINO...really cheep shop it's we're I get my licence from also.

Hi Tony, Darrin,

Regarding the license, is that a standard license like the rod license here in the UK? Also is it correct you need one to fish in Almeria but not over the border in Murcia?

I also fancy trying some sea fishing, I've always done course or fly fishing, so new to it, but have caught thick lipped mullet in Majorca on bread many times, on an inland lake and canal system. I was thinking of going up the coast between San Juan and Aguilas, there is a big spar shop close to San Juan that sells tackle too, don't know what their prices are like tho compared to the Repsol shop.

Cheers Neil.

Hi Neil  not shore about mercia, but yes you need a license to fish in almeria,it's only 20€for 3 years from the repsol shop takes about 3 days.

It's not really inforced much but if your unlucky they would fine you and confiscate all your tackle.ive been fishing 6 years in Spain with a licence and never had a problem. It's commen sense really don't fish we're the tourist are.and many beaches won't let you fish at certain times of day..but if you find a spot like macanas beach.you can fish all day.

Hi Darrin,

Thanks for the info, I'll just buy a license, also what's the script with launching boats on the beaches where there is slipway access for vehicles. As I fancy a small speedboat to fish off and have a little fun, or a big jetski maybe, I've seen plenty up and down the coast.

Thanks.

Hi Neil not 100% on that 1,but we're I fished there was a guy (Spanish ) and every now and then he would pull up with his dinghy and motor and sail right out there till I couldn't see him again, lol.but not shore on the logistics of that. You would have to ask at your local harbour.

Sounds great though, never fished of a boat.but always wanted to.

Hi Pal,

I just thought of a boat, a cool box with a few cruzcampo's and put the rods up and potter about seeing what I may or may not catch, still a pleasure if I didn't catch owt doing that.

I've also heard that if you want to fish inland on still waters or rivers, that you've to do a fishing course before hand and get a license? Sounds a bit backwards that, have you ever fished inland on lakes rivers etc?

Cheers.

No never been interested in Lake fishing really, but yes I've heard you have to go on a course also and the licence is a lot more expensive and you can't eat your catch,lol..I fish for up to 8hrs a day when I'm there nothing better than sitting in the sun relaxing with a few beers topping your tan up even the wife loves it.all this talk about fishing is getting my excited to get back there.our whole complex has been painted and I haven't even seen it yet it been that long.role on April.
