Hi

Alicia is correct. I’ve just had mine delivered. You sign a declaration to say all items are over 6 months old. We paid no import tax, price quoted in November is the price we paid in January. Just remember no food, plants or soil

Did your transporter send you a copy of the spanish customs import declaration proving they completed customs correctly ?

No I decided not to bring the mattress due to the costs.

I sent them a screenshot of the legislation saying if you’ve owned it for 6 months - they didn’t want to know!

It's not easy at present . As far as we can see spanish tax office saying if you have all the correct paperwork you do not have to pay duties and taxes . The spanish customs authority are saying you do have to pay duties and taxes as items coming from a non EU country to a EU country . Once paid to get your items you can apply for a refund but granting this is decided by the spanish customs . All very confusing and expensive .
