Thank you everyone so nice to get off the brexit post . Only time I used a motor home was in Canada touring rockies from Calgary to Vancouver and back . Amazing experience ,freedom and views but you could only stop overnight in certified campsites as from Banff onwards it’s all national parks . Excellent facilities for emptying loo tanks and top up with water . Not sure how it works in uk and Europe . I was quite pleased to get into a hotel after a month . Good topic this one but the main thing like Jenni has asked and had no reply are the motorhome owners breaking COVID restrictions. That’s the only important bit

I'm getting inspiration on this thread which could prove to be financially beneficial. I could buy a motorhome and drive around Arboleas, Palomares, etc etc. At the same time we could rent out the apartment.
1. Financial Gain.

2. Get to know different areas while staying overnight or more in the motor-home and we could make new friends too.
I'm wondering how I didn't think of this before.
Oh no, Biggles about lol

Once you have your motor home PM him and I am certain he will let you empty your toilet at his. save you emptying it in the sand dunes like the rest of us do.
Have a good day, Alan
This thread continues to be a source of inspiration to me. I've just discovered that 2nd hand motorhomes are much cheaper in Spain than in northern europe. No need to matriculate, left-hand drive, aircon already installed - I have to bring my plan forward; I could be the owner of a campervan sooner than I thought.
Now for the short list, Carboneras, Garrucha, Vera Playa, Desert Springs GC, Palomares, Aguilas . . . the experience I can learn overnighting in these places . . .

You can get cheap ones in uk. I could of got a left hand drive fiat one from Ireland 45,000 miles on 2004 it was tidy. But needed a upgrade inside. Only 6000 was very cheap. But got a different one for 15,0000 all new inside ( 4 berth) I got in Chester .. drove over to Spain ..but if I ever bought again it would be a Japanese Mitsubishi one there superb 2 berth smaller easy to park. Automatic and fully fitted. With shower and toilet .. plus the Japanese do not do high mileage , I saw one 2001 with only 15,000 miles on for 10.000 pounds .. but my wife wanted the bigger one ( she now regrets). I had to store that in a friends lock up when I was away .. but to be honest unless you use regular , there a waste of money which I found out .. parked up for 3/6 months of the time .. it is enjoyable.

Yep! I think we'll stick with 2 small bedrooms, shower and toilet, but left-hand drive a necessity. We hope to travel with our two dogs Winston and Adolf (two of the greatest cat haters in europe
I think we'll stick with the smaller 2 bedroom van with shower/toilet. We'll be bringing our two dogs Winston and Adolf (both allies and hate cats with a contempt of a Premier team meeting a non league team in the FA Cup). I'll give the UK a whirl for sourcing, but the price must be pretty cheap to deflect matriculation in Spain.
Just wondering:- Where do people store the campervans in Mojacar Playa for the months not in use?
0. I must do some research in the UK and perhaps we'll save a few bob.

I'm sitting in a house working, am on the Padron and have paid my basura tax etc. etc. - my camper can't be matriculated so it's been shipped back to the UK. I'm fully paid up on all scores don't worry!
Thank you

I'm probably not representative of your question, but we arrived in October, with no lock downs underway, moved into our Cortijo and parked the campervan in the yard. Very useful for the many (sofar) weeks of rebuilding the house, with no bedrooms available in the house.
Hi SveinB, Thanks for reply, but your right your not representative, cos your in your home with your camper parked in your own driveway. I am just trying to find out if, all the campers that we think are parked illegally, have in fact been told to stay put by the Guardia.

I can't answer that. But officially, there is no overnight stay, (day allowed, but "camping behaviour not accepted," which means no tables etc ) but I guess you're free to take the chairs to the beachside like fishermen do...
From review of 16/1, police drove past late night, but not chasing any away, contrary to a review from February last year.
