I live in Palomares. The place is ok but there are a lot of crazy Brits about and I try to avoid them at all costs...Been here for some 4 years now but having had my car vandalised and had verbal and physical abused by bored Brits I don't think will be here in the long-term...

We find the area very good .

You probably need a car .

If you want the busy beach,  bars,  and Restaurants  then Palomares isn't like that

Banks, bakers. Supermakets bars and Restaurants are here.people are friendly like anywhere we live we choose who we like and don't.

We don't have to join in but there are many English people here .

Try to rent before you buy Isle if it is tge area you want .

I have a 2 bed apartment if interested .

Thanks for your response

Biggles has an ongoing grudge with Palomares, so I would take no notice of his biased view and see for yourself when you visit.

Palomares has everything you need but on a smaller scale than, say, Mojacar. The beach and lovely chiringuitos are within walking distance and the busier areas just a short drive away.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

We have had an appartment in cetre of village since 2003 (bought off plan with concrete frame up). Our  Apartment block is is mainly Spanish as built as a residential block not as a holiday home..

Been coming to area annually since 1986 staying in Villaricos. We chose Palomares because it has everything you need and although there are more Brits now it is still Spaish and not touristy, unlike Mojacar. You definetly need a car as poor bus service. We looked at Turre, Loss lobos and rural villages before we bought and have no regrets  Have had 5 weeks here this year in Juna and September and will be back in December for 12 days before Xmas. It is our second home.

If you want a nice quiet life , GREAT. If you want nightlife it wont be for you, I would then chose Mojacar.

Palomares has positive things going for it, and personally I quite like it, but not everyone's cup of tea. Rent before you buy.
