I have just got back from Almeria where I went to collect my residency card (which due to snow in Madrid earlier) did not happen!!!

I thought I would count the motor homes on the road doing my trip.

I counted 21 of them all going south and from various countries !!!

Potential Covid 19 transmitters....crazy they can wander all over the country and yet us residents can only move around in our local municipality.....

. . . . but the big news is:- Alan, James and I are now a formidable team on this forum. That's something nobody would have predicted. Let's hope we can meet in May. But, Covid has a few kicks left in it yet and perhaps our respective governments are not telling us the full story? Remember the So...

...uth African variant hit the UK last September and it was near Christmas before we got to know of it.

But, good to see Jenni is not asleep and still participating and as usual is full of the milk of human kindness. I'm just wondrin' if James, Alan and I sign up for The Chase would we be better with Jenni or would Alicia be better?

Getting back to the campervans though. What country are they from mainly?

And, what do you think they should do with their rubbish seeing that you're moaning that they are using the publicly placed bins?

You would never get on The Chase, you have to be polite on there, you have just failed.

You ask ' What do I suggest they do with their rubbish'. Well the answer is simple, they either go and stay at a paying camp site so that their rubbish is deposed of properly. Or they register at the town hall get a pardon and start paying towards the removal of their rubbish.

Can I ask, from you people in the know, how long have these campers been there, is it as Matthew suggests they are only there because boarders are closed so they have nowhere to go, or have they flaunted the law and sneaked into Spain for the Winter.

I agree, they are just taking the P*ss, travelling all over the country without any restrictions being made on them. Matthew your always spouting on about wearing a mask, safe distancing and not travelling, how can you condone Campers Travelling/Parking everywhere.

Isn’t it ironic that at the end of this somewhat heated debate there is actually an item advertising camper vans?  Someone must have a sense of humour.  Humbly yours.  A neutral.

Hmph hmph hmph, i can visualize a few thousand germans, belgiums, dutch norries and brits etc lining the townhall steps with google translate app, blocking your entry to pay your annual bill. Fumes galore hehe.

Jenni, buy a campervan b4 Matthew books it, see the world and get a perspective (and less ulcers). Nite nite

Well they have obviously "wandered" here from somewhere else. They aren't Cuevas del Almanzora residents are they?Perhaps they should have stay put from wherever they come from. They have had a year to go home and stay there from wherever they originate till the pandemic is over....

I'm getting a strange feeling during this thread on campervans. I don't own one, but if ever we have a few spare shillings around we'll buy one.

OK! Back to the strange feeling bit:- The Scene - Biggles shouting at the Spanish police (in English, natch!) from within his car. The police approach and he continues not to wear a face mask during a dreadful epidemic causing the Policíá to be putting themselves at Covid risk. Still Biggles co...

...mplains about the campervan owners. Biggles avoids a fine with the Policía deeming it not worth their while arguing with a man with nothing much to complain about. Fortunately, for Biggles the Policía also turned a blind eye to him not being in control of his dogs which were running around outside the control of their owner.

Oh! Yeah! The strange feeling bit. I never saw women sitting in the comfort of their cars while simultaneously exercising their dogs. I wonder if there is some plot about with Alicia leading the pack of female superiority? We men better watch out!

And Alan anytime you feel like calling around, you're welcome and you can park the campervan in our driveway. Bring Biggles with you and we'll all have a decent drop of tea or stronger. I'll brew the stuff as Mrs Matthew will be down in the local hall organising Alicia and a few more women in their quest for total female superiority.

I agree to much stigma around Campervan’s, I sold mine 2 years ago to be honest I never used it that much my wife loved it more than me . Used it in a mojacer site , and a few others .. Spain is the place to have on nice weather etc .. but I also believe in letting people get on with it ... live and let live ...
