I'm getting a strange feeling during this thread on campervans. I don't own one, but if ever we have a few spare shillings around we'll buy one.

OK! Back to the strange feeling bit:- The Scene - Biggles shouting at the Spanish police (in English, natch!) from within his car. The police approach and he continues not to wear a face mask during a dreadful epidemic causing the Policíá to be putting themselves at Covid risk. Still Biggles complains about the campervan owners. Biggles avoids a fine with the Policía deeming it not worth their while arguing with a man with nothing much to complain about. Fortunately, for Biggles the Policía also turned a blind eye to him not being in control of his dogs which were running around outside the control of their owner.

Oh! Yeah! The strange feeling bit. I never saw women sitting in the comfort of their cars while simultaneously exercising their dogs. I wonder if there is some plot about with Alicia leading the pack of female superiority? We men better watch out!

And Alan anytime you feel like calling around, you're welcome and you can park the campervan in our driveway. Bring Biggles with you and we'll all have a decent drop of tea or stronger. I'll brew the stuff as Mrs Matthew will be down in the local hall organising Alicia and a few more women in their quest for total female superiority.

. . . . course you were talking in English otherwise you'd have talked yourself into a fine on a couple of fronts. The Policía probably felt intimidated with you shouting at them from your car.

And while you play the fiddle, Rome burns. Alicia et al are becoming superior to us. Of course, then, you'll be starting the Mens-Lib movement?

" course you were talking to them in English" What makes you say that? You weren't there....yes I was born in the UK,lived in Spain from 2005,drive a Spanish car, live in a Spanish house 100% of the time and speak passable Spanish. All I want is the police to do is enforce the law instead of swanning up and down the playa sunbathing.....and doing sod all.

Trouble for Bigles is he dosen,t know the law, yet thinks his requirements are the law, typical civil servant, probably retired early fifties on an inflation linked gold plated final salary pension that the UK cant afford and will be a drain on the NHs and senior social care for many years to come.

James

1. They have to park somewhere and are not allowed cross borders because of Covid. They are probably as concerned as any onlooker.

2. Did you have full control over your dogs while you sat staring at decent people from the comfort of your car?

3. And rightly, you were corrected by the police for not wearing a mask; you should have been fined.

4. Is it legal for you to exercise your dogs on the beach?

5. I look forward to somebody posting a picture of you and your behaviour on the beach too.

Nasty not necessary, Matthew

Yes I took early retirement when I was 50 when I moved to Spain when I married my Spanish girlfriend.I'm no drain on the NHS or social care system as you infer.Up till now I have private Spanish health insurance... By the way before you get round to it my name is Biggles( you couldn't even get that right). I'm a pilot, maybe I should land my Cessna172 on the beach car/ aircraft park it's plenty long enough.....,that would upset the campers and give the police a nice little headache.Cant see that's on the signpost that says no overnight camper parking....Just keep on paying your UK taxes please, the money is very welcome😁🇪🇦🇬🇧

Just to put my 2pennyworth in, when the campers owners, park anywhere other than an official site, the are useing the facilities of that town or village that they haven't contributed to. So someone said they use, the public bins for their waste, those bins  are paid for by the residents, and what about their sewerage, do they use the public toilets to dispose of that. I can see only one reason a campervan owner would not use an official site and that is to save money, to park on the side of the road, on a beach or a car park is free, at a campsite they would have to pay.

Yes Jenni exactly that's my argument and there's a camp site just up the road from the playa here in Palomares. Why pay when they can stay on the playa for nothing and us residents have to pay for rubbish to be picked up every night.....?😠
