I'm now more confused than ever. Perhaps we agree that animal cruelty is an issue throughout every country in europe. Is it worse in Spain? How can we resolve the situation? Is there a situation to be resolved? Are animal owners the problem? Are animal owners the solution? Will money resolve the issue? If there is a problem, is it getting incrementally worse?
For my two pennyworth, I cant see where L181Sky was being either racist or xenophobic, I am usually the first to to jump on anyone that is, and in this case Dario your wrong. This is an age old problem, without a government intervention and a law passed there is no solution except what is being done already, try and look after the animals and report anything that is untowards in the hope they act fast.
Why is it, that some people on here cant have an intelligent conversation when they are challenged, why does it always resort to nastiness.

True , how many different posts has this happened too with name calling and blockings . For my two penny worth . I live and work with livestock, cattle , sheep ,horses and dogs . They are looked after to a high standard as possible and sometimes better than me as they never miss a meal where as I do if work demands . We have had quite a few cases of animal ill treatment over this winter mainly underfed horses that people can’t afford to look after . Some blame COVID but I bet the owners kept their iPhone and sky contracts going . As I said before on here the fad of paying fortunes for mongrel dogs which are now named designer dogs has gone ballistic , even jack russels which I used to breed are making £1,200 each for puppies . Neglect of an animal is bad but actual cruelty must be punishable by a jail term when found and prosecuted. We need to be kind to animals and each other here on this site . Jenni you sound like a kind and a strong person so keep up the good work . Mathew , Dario ,sky and the rest I raise a lovely glass of brandy to you , medicinal of course it’s cold out their

Devo, unfortunately its the same 2 people that cause all the name calling and blocking, and I dont need to mention names they and everyone else know who they are. Pity admin doesn't do something about them. So that the rest of us can have a reasonable discussion.
I dont know where you are based Devo, but sounds idyllic with all those animals, but jolly hard work, I take my hat off to you.
Enjoy your evening

It’s nice to have a little wander from time to time . Lambing all done here last weekend and lucky with weather , cold and bright but mainly dry . Down side a few more fox attacks on lambs , awful to see . 12 foxes shot so I’m not that kind .
Yes, Devo. I've seen first hand of the havoc and death foxes can cause to sheep, lambs, chickens, etc. Such vermin still have a price on their head in Ireland where on supplying the fox's brush at a police station you can collect an instant handy reward. I don't know if this is the case in the UK.
Worse again some packs of dogs can have the same effect when they attack farms at night. These dogs are owned by people who believe their pet is as innocent as Mother Teresa. The dog owners don't even bother locking them up at night and often allow them to roam in sheep farming areas off the lead during daylight hours. Something dog owners should take note of.

No thoughts about the Goats?
you mean the goats pigs etc that are killed in a matanza you know throats cut like halal, you seem to forget that the older Spanish are still from a basically third world country/background,to them animals are animals,a dog is there to work NOT to molly coddle as Brits do, they do not bestow a pet with a 'human' form as we do although that is changing.
L181SKY where do you live(mainly) if the UK then 90%of the meat you buy is slaughtered by Halal,no stunning just throat cut and bled,do you buy meat?
if you really do not like it then leave Spain behind and move to Cornwall

Excellent input by HartCJHart there. When I see a dog dressed up in say a type of party dress and/or along with matching bow etc I wonder of the mindset of the dog's owner. I've seen cats with dangling jewellery from the neck. Anybody who does this to an animal is no lover of animals. But, try telling them that.
