Hi everyone 😃

We’ve just moved to Barranco De Quiles, 5 mins from Oria…( 7 days tomorrow!)

We are loving it, but are hitting a few problems.

We collected our Bank cards, but are completely at a loss as to how to use the atm!

Until we manage this our cards are not activated!

It’s not something you can ask anyone’s help for.

Any advise on use please, we’ve tried to muddle through, but no cash was dispensed 😞

The Unicaja ATM has a range of flags on the screen. Press the Union Jack 🇬🇧. The ATM guides you through the process, in English…

thanks Chris, we were in Mojaca, then Albox and couldn’t see the flags, we will give it another go tomorrow, thank you!

Is online banking and are communications available in English also?

We are loving being in Spain, but feel a little out of our depth…

After a very complicated Visa application etc….. we are now dreading getting our identity cards, changing driving licenses etc 🤪

I don’t bank with Unicaja but I use their ATM as it’s nearer to me. Since 2018 I have banked with Sabadell. Two of their staff speak English and I email them with any queries and get prompt relplies.

Good luck

Chris

You could maybe ask in the bank itself, If your Spanish is not up to it I'm sure if you make this obvious, then just show the card and shrug or similar they'll get the message and help?

Alternative do you know someone you could take along, a neighbour perhaps?

Good luck

Puff

Online banking has an english section. Re ATM your card may need to be activated prior to use

Hi Marie,

When you apply for your driving license/TIE etc you will need to take a translator with you. I have used a lady called Jenny who also lives just outside Oria for years and would recommend. her number is 0034 660529295 she will also come to banks or doctors with you should you require. Spain is a mined field of red tape, but your get there in the end. Enjoy.

When you need you TIE, driving license etc try CATS first.  They cover everything and are the cheapest place for driving license and they all speak English.  I am sure this will take the pressure off you just moving over.  It does seem stressful in the being but once all the paperwork is out of the way you can relax and enjoy the summer.

Many thanks that will be extremely helpful! How much does she charge please?

That will sort all our problems!

Thank you!
