We lived in Oria Campo for 5 years and never felt any tremors. Good luck with your move.

Thank you, it all helps while we decide on what to do. The pros and cons of moving there or stay in Scotland.

Thanks again

It is a very big step to make, we moved here in 2011 and unfortunately my husband died in 2013.  After only being here 2 years as you can imagine is was a stressful time.  I weighed up all the pros and cons, considered the lovely friends I had made, plus the weather and the cost of living.  As you can see I decided to stay and have never regretted it for one minute.  My daughter who visits as often as she can is moving out to live in about 4 years, as she also loves it here. Good luck in what you decide.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. My wife had breast cancer in 2013 and since then we have always tried to make decisions that have a good impact on our life without the stress. We have been doing holiday rentals for the past 10 years and are now looking to step back from that, coupled with the cost of living here and tourism being hammered and tourism licensing we are hoping a move to Oria will bring some much needed peace. The only issue we have really is that we have not visited before (have 3 dogs) and live in a remote location so it’s difficult to know if it’s for us or will be just a temporary happy mood. Even a trip over is not the same as living there so just weighing things up as you did.

Thank you for your opinion though, it really helps.

Don't forget that since Brexit it is nigh on impossible to obtain residencia.... unless you are from a country within the European Union.... or have a parent/ grandparent who is from Southern Ireland.

This is not correct, as long as you have no criminal record and you have the correct amount of money in the bank, follow the visa info and you can get a residencia.  It takes a little longer to get but you can get it.

My wife is German and has full EU movement and as her husband I have the same rights and we don’t need a Visa, we just need to get the usual residency permit when there.

Yes we’ve already spoken to the Spanish Embassy who have green lighted everything :-)

Friends, both on excellent pensions who have owned a villa here for years and have just both retired have been battling to get residencia..    after 18 months of appointments and arguments they have now been given a final NO... and told to leave. They were originally told it would be given in the end..... but sadly it was not.... They don't even have as much as a speeding ticket between them!

That’s horrendous for them! What reasons did they give, it’s shocking !  Typical though 🤦🏼‍♀️

Unfortunately when britex was on its way anyone with homes in Spain who wishes to retire here could of got residence as long as they received a pension on 8000 per year and you did not need any money in the bank.  Once the UK came out of the EU then you have to have 30,000 in the bank to stay.  With this couple owning a property for so long I would think that amount will be 10,000.  As with a lot of people they trusted the UK government and did not look deeper into the situation.
