Hi all. I've had a look at some of the old posts around this subject - problem I have is I'm trying to sort out internet connection from the UK for an older person (now bereaved) who lives on their own in a location that can't get a connection apparently (Albox has been over this week and done a site test but says no can do even though she has a landline with them) So, is there any other way something can be sorted? I think my friend used to 'bounce off' another satellite somewhere but it got moved about 4 months ago so now she has nothing - no TV, no internet etc. Any help/advice much appreciated at this time. Thank you in advance. Sam

I have a satalite dish as well as the Internet, it only picks up bbc, itv chanel 4 and channel 5, but it is great when the Internet goes down or there is a lot of buffering.  My friend who lives just off the ramble try different companies and they all said they could not help.  The only one she could get Internet with was Albox on line.  Sorry I cannot help more.

Hi Jenni. I don't live in Almeria, an older relative does. How could she go about 'bouncing' off your satelitte? Could I get her to call you directly to discuss? Let me know. Thanks, Sam

Hi Sam, I have sent you a private message with my phone number, and email in case she wants to go into town to email me.

But in short if her house is in line of site of my wi=fi Antenna, then she can bounce off this, its not as simple as that, there will be a cost because I think she will have to have a cable run up to it. But if she lets me know where she is in relation to me then first off we can see if she is in line of site.  I know you have had the Albox on- line engineer up, but he would only have checked to see if she was inline with the Main area antenna, not mine.

Hi Sam,

My husband spoke to your mum (Moira) last night and explained what the procedure would be to have a signal bounced from our antenna to her house, and because she would need a trench dug and cables laid etc, she isn't interested, she doesn't think it is worth the expense, my husband did point out that it would help her to sell the house. I would say we have offered help to your mum in the past.
