first are you a UK passport holder if yes you need to research the procedures in place now Brexit has taken place to see what finances you need and health care needs cover.  You have to apply in the UK via the Spanish embassy for some visas and you will need to do this within a specific time period.  Lots of posts of this on the forum for you to check up what's needed or check on Govuk site for info.

Why the need for an English builder?  few and far between here.

While I enjoy Bedar, I feel it is somewhat isolated for full time living (just my gut feeling). I would advise that you rent there before buying. I would think that if you intend renting out your property there when you’re not using it, things could go pear-shape.

As Alice has pointed out, if you are a UK passport holder, you cannot apply for an NLV from within Spain.

The financial requirement for the NLV is based on Spanish public income indicator.  The following is taken from Ministry of the Exterior

“The minimum annual required amount equals 400% of Spain's Public Income Indicator for Multiple Effects (IPREM). In the year 2023, this equals 28.800€. For each dependent (spouses, children or ascending relative), an additional 100% of the IPREM must be added annually” 

These figures are for 2023 and usually increase a little each year.

And as Alice asked … why an English builder?  This is Spain, not very many English builders around and Spanish builders are just as good
