Neil, you will love it. Shorts and tee shirts by day and warmer clothes from 4.00pm. Plenty to do and plenty to enjoy.

Really??????

I spend winter in a south facing house with no heating and marble floors. I sleep beside an open patio door with a 4.5 tog quilt and I’m warm enough. Maybe I’m lucky in not feeling the cold and I only wear long trousers when it’s raining

If you want more for your money then look at Los Gallardos/ Huerta Nueva areas. Just a short drive to Mojacar but plenty of bars here. and it is all so well looked after by the mayor and his team. I take it that it is just for winter.... no way with Brexit that you with get a residencia now unfor...

...tunatly.

NannieH  You never know, they maybe Irish or have Irish passports, are even other Europeon passports. Always check peoples situations before you assume anything.

No one mentioned the cortigo style construction. Old houses with thick stone walls, cool in summer and toasty in winter when combined with a wood burner. Just make sure the roof is new construction

No foundations , no ventilation , damp problems when left for a period of time. Mouldy , Not ideal.  Paint won’t stick to the walls as too moist with rising damp. Not all obviously but for New people they really need to do a lot of homework, we’ve had our great well built little house in the campo for 20 years and have heard it all.

I am supposing that you live in or near Mojácar which explains partly why you don't get so cold.  When you start moving inland the winter temperature is less mild and temperature deoends on your altitude. We do have cooler summer nights than coastal areas though which is a big plus!

NannieH, When you post on any forum you must expect reaction and it's no big deal whether the questioner is from the outside or inside the EU or whether its's a UK or EU passport. People are entitled to post and the more they do the better. We all wear halos, otherwise we wouldn't be posting.

And much drier, cleaner air, less flies, more space etc etc up here in the 'inland'
