If its the one i remember technically it is Mojacar but nearer to Macenas beach.   Macenas has a golf course too i think,. But i hasten to add it is a few years since i was up there.  Not far from Agua en Media where the Anglican church is. Good luck anyway.

Thank you x

Good afternoon all . My husband and I have bought a park home on Cueva Negra Mojacar .

Can I ask if there is anyone who lives there on this forum ?

We can’t get over at the moment because of the restrictions and we are looking for someone who would not mind keeping an eye on the home when we are not there ?

We would pay the person .

Thanks for taking time to read this and any help would be gratefully appreciated .

Carol and Sean Murray from Swind

I Ishmael you all the luck and happiness in your new home when you eventually manage to get here.

The agents you dealt with are very reputable so I’m sure there will be nothing wrong with your home.

Don’t worry

Wow what a miserable lot!  Give cautious advice in advance of any purchase, great, but why pour buckets of water on someone who  has already bought? I am sure she has seen a map as to location, she said: 'We had someone look at it for us and also a virtual viewing with the owner', it is...

... probably great and how really exciting to dream of visiting it as owner!  I hope it is glorious Carol and fulfils your dreams - nothing is perfect but if your glass is half full , ignore those who predict it will be half empty!

I agree with you completely...well said.

The overtly negative replies are just plain mean

Thank you . I had a. virtual tour from the office of Spanish property services to the park from there office in Mojacar . I saw how far it was and also looked at maps for the area and distance from everything . I did not expect some negativity on here from some people . We are hoping to make grea...

Hi,

I often walk (or sometimes run) from Mojacar round the cliff path to Macadenas Beach and back past the campsite, its a great walk round the cliff path which is perfectly safe but the quickest way is on the road. I guess it's about 1k to the first hotel Puerto Marina and the start of the walkway so not so far if you are reasonably mobile. Puerto Marina has a pool and mini water park which you used to be able to use free if you bought a drink, so you could refresh there!

The bus service runs as far as the hotel and from there to the commercial centre where there is a Consum and Mercadonna. There are also Taxis at the commercial centre so you could walk/bus down (for about €1 each) and taxi back if laden with grub/plonk.

Mojacar is the kind of place where a car is useful as its a long way from airports (unless you are lucky enough to be able to fly to Almeria) but that has stopped it being over developed like the resorts around Malaga or Alicante.

There are a lot of negative comments about estate agents but if you look on review sites for anything you can find negative comments. We bought a few years ago and found the agents fine, I never like to trust agents too much but we could not be present for completion so we had to let the agent check the condition and inventory for us but all was fine.

Hope you enjoy once you get to be able to use the place!

Yes we did . We had someone look at it for us and also a virtual viewing with the owner . We are very happy with our  decision (can’t believe you went ahead ) not sure what that means . But thanks for your feedback

I've only just caught up with this thread today and I'm sure a lot of this negative response has probably surprised you as it has me, Carol!

Ignore it please.  I know people who have bought brick and mortar homes in England on virtual tours and they are living there now and the property now is worth three times as much as it was 7 years ago.

According to many of the estate agents in Mojacar, because of Covid and people being unable to travel, virtual tours from both international and national clients have resulted in a reasonable percentage of their sales over the last year.  Times change and circumstances favour buying online be it from Ikea, the local supermarket, cars or property.

Cueva Negra is a lovely, laid back area and so don't let them kill your enthusiasm!   You've bought it anyway and a trusted person has done a check so you know it exists and the condition that it's in. I'm sure you are not stupid people any more than my friends are who bought a house in England via a web page.

Good luck, and hopefully you'll get to enjoy that holiday home soon and then find someone local to keep an eye on it.
